i just gave the article a quick read to get a glimpse of it. Seems like he was prolly spooked by the whole terms and conditions, I know if i were investing in a growth industry or something with such growth potential within the industry it would disturb me to find out I could lose it for any reason. I do believe though that he will simply re open negotiations, the NHL has probably realized what great potential the Pens have and that they/mario could make a great deal more money in the near future.
Look at their blue chip assets in Staal, Malkin, and Crosby...not to mention MA Fleury! they are young, crosby is attractive (looking from a marketing standpoint), Malkin gives them inroads to Russia, Fleruy into Quebec, and Staal into the next hockey bloodline. Very strong future for this club. remember when they first started to negotiate a price, Malkin was still up in the air, Staal was a maybe for making it out of the O.
Sorry for rambling, just trying to make a point that this deal is not dead...and mario could offload this team fast i believe if he really WANTED too! He now has the oppertunity to possibly recover debt with new potential revenue!
And i still think they'll be in Winnipeg
