Just wanted to get "a poker players view" on the steroid situation that is going on. What you think about Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Jason Giombi, Sammy Sosa... ANY FOOTBALL PLAYER. If Barry breaks the record (The most Sacred record in all of sports) should they honor it after he has said that he used the juice. Just want to read what any FCP member/guest thinks.

It's terrible, now Barry Bonds is blaming the media and FANS for his families sufferings, my ass. I am sure he suffers so badly making 10 mil a year, and if it was not for the media and fans he would be nowhere. Mark McGuire ****ed up in court by not wanting to speak about the past, what a dumbass, he would of been better off by just admitting he did it.

If Bonds does break the record (hopefully he won't), I think baseball will let it stand. Baseball knew these guys were juicing in the 90's but let it go to boost attendance after the strike. I think the owner's and Selig are just as guilty, if not more than the players. They were all making money off roids, I guess they just didn't think they'd ever get caught.

First positive drug test today
TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Alex Sanchez was suspended 10 days for violating major league baseball's new drug policy, the first player publicly identified under baseball's tougher rules.
Major League Baseball announced the suspension Sunday. It begins on Monday.
Sanchez said he was surprised by the suspension, adding that he uses milkshakes and multivitamins to build his energy -- and blaming the positive test on something he bought over the counter.
"I'm going to fight it, because I've never taken steroids or anything like that," Sanchez said.
Sanchez said he was drug tested while he was with the Tigers.
I couldn't help but laugh because this guy was a complete schmuck when he was in Milwaukee.

I'm gonna say this, it doesn't matter if Bonds breaks the record or not. You know why? ARod will smash it if he keeps up his pace and there will be no question whatsoever whether or not he was clean

That's presuming that ARod stays healthy enough to do so
Injury's always a possibility, and ARod's not even to 500 yet, maybe not even to 400 yet?

ARod is 15 away from 400 and he's only been in the majors for 7 years I think. Playing 3rd base will add years to his career as it isn't as physically demanding as shortstop is. He's also been very smart with his body unlike Ken Griffey Jr or Nomar

When I think of Arod I still think of that playoff slap that he got called on interference for
I do like Arod and Jeter as players despite my hatred of the Yankees, Arod is clearly the best player in baseball imo, and Jeter exudes class
Plus even I had to tip my proverbial hat when Jeter made that face dive into the stands
The game starts in less then an hour, I'll be watching until I have to go to work this evening

My favorite part about Sanchez testing positive is that he has 4 lifetime homers.
So...you know...hee hee.

I don't like steroids, although I've known users who far, far avoided the horrors that the media like to inflame. However, when we think of the sins of pro-athletes, I'd have to put steroids pretty far down the list. Here's just a few at random that I think far worse:
Domestic Violence
Vehicular Homicide
Drunken Driving (these guys can afford to hire a limo any time they want to get tanked)
Throwing Games
In fact, of those 4, it seems like only thowing games gets you banned.
