Sounds hectic come World Series time. Question for Daniel, if you could win one of the WSOP events (besides the main event) which would it be? Which is most prestigious to the pros? to you? Good luck Daniel.
akishore
daniel, best of luck in the wsop. i think your accomplishments in getting WSOP POTY last year are far underrated. you mentioned this in an ESPN interview, but it's a full month of damn hard work, and it's honestly very impressive. i can't imagine playing strong, focused tournament poker for over a month straight, day in and day out... it's out of this world. best of luck again.

the sixhanded NLHE tournies should lend itself to great viewing and heavy on top notch play as its a format thatwon't favor an amateur. Watch out on those rebuy tournies Daniel laugh.gif . Do you think the 2-7 might be the hradest considering how good the field will be. Why no Rzz, you don't like putting ourself in a bad mood :-)

Daniel,

Which events at the WSOP this year do you plan on playing in? That's quite a selection to choose from?
BriantheMan
daniel is going to play all of them i think, unless he makes it to a final table, then he cant play in that days event

wsop isn't doing razz this year. the NLHE craze is too big... alternately, the six-handed NLHE format was introduced, and like you said, it should be interesting.

look again. They are having it as a oneday event. It'll probably be the last year its around for a while.

That's almost 250k in buyin fees. Well i guess he won all of that in won 3rd place finish this year...sure would be nice

yea but the tournaments are more than 1 day(I think 2 day max except for M.E.). So if you survive day one then you can't play the next day's tournament.

Still a heck of a lot of $$$ though.

my bad, i totally missed it. i notice that it's on the same day as the 6-handed NLHE tourney though... i don't know if there is a time conflict (starting time), but it makes sense that daniel would want to play the 6-handed one more. that really sucks that they eliminated HORSE and that they'll likely eliminate razz. what next... omaha8?

I think the "Pros" should start an invitation only Series...have a huge variety of games, etc etc. One that isnt so freaking commercialized.

that's basicallly the PPT (professional poker tour), except that right now it's only NLHE. i don't know if there are any plans on expanding the game selection...

The most prestigious event to win outside the main event would be the S.H.O.E or H.O.R.S.E event that Harrah's did away with. I'm absolutely appalled by the decision. The event is always chalk full of great players at the final table and you'd think with a month of events they wouldn't be so ridiculously money hungry that they had to add all of those no limit events and couldn't make room for just one mixed game event.

It's the most absurd decision I've seen in a long time and I'm very upset about it. Based on this decision it appears as though Harrah's is only concerned with it's bottom line and cares little about the history of our game. I can't think of one single poker player that would disagree with me when I say that this decision was silly.
mark33f
Daniel you should host your own event!!

agreed. DO you think that they keep the 2-7 tournemnt going becasue it satisfies the big players as you really don't see a weak field for that tournament. Its sad that they have done away with HORSE/SHOE. Somehow I don't think teh Binion family would've done this had they not had to sell their casinos to Harrah's.

They will have a razz event at the WSOP $1,500 I belive.

Daniel-

What is the structure like for the $1000-$5000 buy-in events at the WSOP? ie how many chips do you start w., general blinds
Red_foot_soldier
Not fancy this tourament this year daniel? Is there too much travel costs involved or is the date just not good? Is it not some time around the end of July?

He's a pretty busy guy ... can't you do your own research?
http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/wsop.asp

standard 25-25, 25-50 structure, 2500 to start, 60 minutes rounds until final table, then 90 min.

acually that was about 150k, minus the 27 rebuys....YES he re-brought 27 times!!! is a 123K profit

the million he won at the borgata should do it, or the 1.7 million he won at the world poker classic at bellagio

or the 250k thrid place in tunica...or.....you get the point
samiam
I noticed that you don't have the Plaza 50K event on your list. Are you not going to attend that event or did you just not list it?

I was looking forward to playing in the S.H.O.E. event as well. Do you know if they will be adding it again in following years because it seems like such an obvious mistake for them to eliminate the mixed game events.

Can we Take an Over Under on the Number of Rebuys Daniel will make in the NL rebuy tourneys? I put it at about 25!

After you win there last year I cant help but noticing that you dont have it on you list. 50G should be right in your bankroll range.

Why no Plaze 50k?

i am going to be flying into Vegas on the 1st of July and saw that you will be playing at the Rio in the WSOP.... i have never been in a casino in Vegas and have obviously never seen a live tournament.... but because i am in such awe over the game and how you play it, i was wondering how ( if possible ) a girl like me could see the game . i am not crazy and i dont wanna seem like a crazed fan i just wanna see some live action from a pro
thanx

Just laid $50 on Daniel at 101:1 odds to take the WSOP.

a smarter bet might have been 34:1 to make final table. However I have faith.

Daniel,

Why no U.S. Poker Championship at the Taj? Too much East Coast/AC for you? September is a lot better than February and the flight isn't that bad.

It's the best TV covered event outside of the WSOP and you do have history there.

Maybe they won't allow foreigners to play this year? =)
