Hello guys. You may recognize my name. I'm a big fan of poker, and I thought I'd recount a story from my younger days in hockey.
One night I was leaving Maple Leaf Gardens, when a young boy wearing an Adidas track suit and some gold chains stopped me for an autograph. I was struck by just how much this little guy loved the Leafs, and how he believed that we were going to win the Stanley Cup that year, even though there were only three games left in the season, and our record at the time was 15 wins and 64 losses, and we had been eliminated mathematically from the playoffs in November.
Anyway, we chatted for a bit, and I promised that boy that I would win the Stanley Cup for him. We made a deal, and I've always remembered that youngster and that promise. I'm sorry that we could never come through and win one for this obviously special needs child.
But I just want you to know, Serge... I've never forgotten you. Oh, and I still have your underwear in the glove compartment of my cadillac....
