Thia came out Tuesday and I was a huge fan of the first one. This is a two disc set, the first of a Q&A session in Toronto and the second disc contains a Q&A done in London. I'm about 1/2 way through the London disc now and for Kevin Smith fans this is a must buy. About 4 hours total of footage, great stuff.

I read a review (which I never care about) that said the first was way better than the second, but KS fans will like this one just fine.

I think the first was a little more fluid because of the editing, but this one is pretty much the whole Q&A session at each location non-stop with little editing, so there are a few more slow parts compared to the first.

Oooh, I forgot this came out. I loved the first one and just love KS all together. That must mean Clerks II is out as well. I still need to see that. My weekend is now planned.

Yep, I picked them both up at Best Buy. Only bad thing (if you can call it that) was that they were out of the regular clerks 2 dvd's, so I got the gift pack with the moobys visor, nametag, and cup.

I want to get it, i probably will this weekend

i finished watching all of it and i have a question.

I read that there was a four disk release in Austrialia, so what was on the other two discs?
The bonus features on the two i got were funny but they were only about 20 minutes.

Is Kevin Smith God? Discuss.

According to his wife... no.

She's probably right. I'd peg him as another overstuffed marginal director with opinions that appeal to the disaffected 20-somethings that roam the suburbs. That's a huge demographic, though, which accounts for his staggering popularity.

i wouldn't say he is God, but i agree that his demographic is huge. He has skill though, i would say he is above a 'marginal director'

He's a marginal director who writes great dialog and then hires terrible actors to deliver it.

You can cut him slack on hiring JLo, he killed her 5 minutes into the movie.

Maybe that's the beauty of it?

And look where it got Jason Lee...

I love Kevin Smith movies...it's just a bunch of his friends in them for the most part. You don't always need great actors to make a great movie.

I thought Evening Harder was not NEARLY as good as the first one (was still alright though)...he could have tried harder instead of just putting something out there to get more money.

Well it's really two different versions of the same thing. One of the complaints he got about the first one was there wasn't any real continuity because of them jumping between different venues via editing. So the idea was to get a Q&A session in it's entirety. In one aspect it worked great because the audience participation made more sense with the jokes that carried over, and in another it didn't because it lost the pacing of the original. Slightly different, and whle I prefer the first i really enjoyed the second.

I actually really like Jason Lee, not because he's a great actor, but he is comfortable in front of the camera, doesn't sound forced, and I enjoy his personality. I cannot say the same about any of the other recurring actors in Smith's movies - how bad does a collective ensemble have to be for Ben Affleck to be the best actor in it???

You do need great actors for a GREAT movie. The actors, in general, drag down Smith's movies. If he had better talent, he would have better movies. IMO, his movies range from good to awful. None of them are great. But they all have at least some great dialog, which is clearly Smith's strongest suit.

Evening Harder had some amusing bits, but it did really look like a cash grab to me. The first one was a lot better. But that's because Smith is a genuinely funny guy, and given multiple shows to edit together into a 2 hour Q&A means a funny movie. But 4 hours of unedited Q&A was considerably less funny.

First one is nearly 4 hours long also.
