heads up, I have J9diamonds, other player has 4-2off, flop is 568 two diamonds, he bets 25chips, i re raise all in for 34 more, he calls, how many outs does he have?

I said three as one of the three's would have given me flush.

He said 9, 3x2, 3x4, 3x3....

Opinions please.

He pinged his three outer to win!!!! icon_clap.gif

7 or 8, depending of the suit of his hole cards....
he can hit a non diamond 2, 3, or 4 to take the lead... you still have a redraw to the flush if a 3 hits, and a pair if a 2 or 4 hits. he is about a 4-1 dog after the flop.

An out is a card you can hit to win the hand. He can hit any non-diamond 2, 3 or 4 to win. His hand is offsuit, so he has either 7 or 8 outs.

If he has a diamond he has 5 pair outs plus 3 straight outs.

If he has no diamond he has 4 pair outs plus 3 straight outs.

EDIT: Too slow.

It's not situation that's really described well with outs. He can hit an "out" but still lose to a redraw. You're about a 4:1 favorite, so that's equivalent to 5 clean outs.

We're pretty laid back here, but this probably should go in the tournament forum. Or really bad beat.
