Ok last 15 in tournament. 10 pay. Small but was important tournament. I lost a major hand a few back, and really need some chips. Get AK in BB...see what happens in this 13k pot that would have put me right back in the tournament with a good chance to win it.

You had a small stack

after his call of the 2400 he isnt folding anything in that spot, nonetheless 99

he had you beat preflop

he still had you beat postflop

I dont see what is so upsetting?

Not sure where the bad beat is.

You were never ahead in this hand.

A bad beat would be if you rivered an ace, king or ten.

Hi guys. I'm new on this forum, but I play poker for some time now. What I call a bad beat is not necesarily losing all your money in a pot, but being dealt the nuts, adjusting to the idea that you are 99% favorite until the turn, rasing like crazy and being called by some fish who holds an open ended straight draw when you hold a set of Aces for example, and being killed on the river. I lost with full against four of a kind, and with four of a kind kings against four Aces. Well, this is what I call a bad beat. Thamks, God, I have learned to take a break when something like this happens, unless I am in a tournament and have some chips left...as all these bad beats make me withdraw and think about what the heck I have done wrong. And every single time it happens, I get tilted. Here are some pictures for you to see what I am talking about when I say BAD BEAT:Click to view attachment Click to view attachment

Well, um, open ended draws do not mean you're a 99% favorite. You are going to lose to them many times, even when you have a set. If you lose with quad kings against quad aces, please do not waste your time wondering if you've done anything wrong. It's bad timing. Do yourself a favor and play 15-25K hands as fast as you possibly can. In no time you'll become immune to pretty much everything that happens at the table and just think about making correct decisions.

No, a bad beat that makes you cry is as follows:

I get AA and go all-in

Get called with 2-3 off suit.

Flop comes up A-4-5!
