Yes i have watched his show, and in the episodes i've seen he is wearing the karki's. But these episodes were land based, or, if he did end up in the water, it was unitentional.

i still get sad about his death. whenever a show of his comes on the discovery channel it gives me pause to realize how great this man was. if only we all could give so much as he did. he will be missed.
