The cutoff is short and could be shoving with anything. However, I'm not yet desperate. Do I want to gamble half my stack here with an M of nearly ten

Hand 1: Easy call.
Hand 2: I don't know how much the forum can help you with this hand. It's very read dependent on the SB and how often he's been shoving against limpers. If he's a player like me who pounds on limpers at every opportunity, then this is an easy call, if he's tight, you should fold.

Unless I'm at a limperiffic table, I'm raising or folding 99 UTG...mostly raising to 300.
Hand 1 is a call. He's desperate, you should be willing to race but expect to be ahead of A-low or a smaller PP quite often.

I think both hands are easy calls.

Hand 1 - easy call.
Hand 2 - don't open limp UTG with 99. Raise or fold. I would raise to 250. As played, call the allin.
