Daley declares 'Diddy Day'

Mayor Richard Daley honored hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs for his charitable work at City Hall today by declaring it "Diddy Day."
Daley, who presented the performer with a set of cuff links featuring the city's seal, said Combs is someone who uses his fame to help others and is a great role model.

WTF!?!? Richard Daley is STILL the mayor of Chicago?!?! WTF!?! Wasn't he mayor when the Blues Brothers movie was released in 1980!?!?!?

i used to live in SF and LA - i live downtown
and yeah the daley's had different middle names but basically same dude - this guy has promised cameras on every corner in like three years
although i don't think he was mayor during the blues bros - they just mentioned the Daley building in the movie

What's wrong with it being Diddy day if he is donating a ton to charity? Yea... he is somewhat of a joke, but he is donating for a good cause so I don't see anything wrong with this.

so you can be a total creep and if you give money to charity (ignore the tax savings) you can be lauded as a role model even if you roll with gangsters and get involved in shootouts - it's a farce and what's worse Daley is helping him promote his album which I'm guessing won't be the next Zeppelin 4
