Fairly entertaining

I keep going until i can't ask Ken Jennings anymore
showstopper24
i just flipped it on and i like it. its very interesting and exciting.

so are the mob just random people? Like that eva person-who was she? (besides ken and the teachers)
SuitedAces21

YES.
showstopper24
when the girl said she has a boyfriend of nine years and bob said he that young?

i started laughing

go to love that bob

Pretty entertaining. If the questions stay at this level, anyone with decent pop culture and general knowledge should do well.

I personally keep going until I get one right that Ken misses, then rub it in his face and taunt him.
showstopper24
good idea.
do you think he gets paid for being on the show more than the other mob?

he must get something since they use his name in the advertising and don't really identify anyone else

either that or since members of the mob are eliminated when they miss - ken is assured of always staying which means he's pretty much assured some cash every time the mob wins

I just get the feeling that some contestant is going to be 1 vs 10 with $200,000 on the line and miss it, only to have Ken scoff at the measley $20,000 he gets.

Ken Jennings is rizznich anyways. He won like a brazillion dollars on Jeopardy. I'm of the opinion that he threw it when he lost (i.e. lost on purpose).

edit: According to Wikipedia he raked in "approximately $1,230,430" after taxes and donating 10% to his church. (LOL at approximately).

The Wikipedia article is pretty interesting.

Also, I haven't seen 100 to 1 yet, but I saw an interview with Bob Saget and I thought he said that the 100 would also win money. So Ken Jennings doesn't need to get paid if he can win, no?
keith crime
yeah if the contestant loses the remaining mob splits his winnings

the funniest Jennings episode of jeopardy i saw

Alex asks him how he prepared and Ken says I memorized all the mixed drinks, state and world capitals and presidents

then alex says the catagories for double jeopardy

potent potables, world capitals, US presidents ....

it was just sick

i went to visit my family in LA when he was still on his streak. We took a tour of one of those studios and it was the studio where Jepordy was. The tour took us there and they told us that Ken would lose in 3 days. Everybody was thinking that he would never lose and i knew he would lose soon.

I just read more of the Wikipedia article and see that he also took down $500,000 before taxes for 2nd place in the tournament of champions.

"During game 53 of his streak, Jennings was given the answer "This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker." Without missing a beat, Jennings replied, "What's a ho(e)?" Trebek replied "No", caught the audience's laughter, and said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, they teach you that in school in Utah, huh?" (The actual question was "What is a rake?")"

hahaha

it actually got reported in the press a few weeks before it aired

those shows were hilarious though

they would introduce the contestants and the score would be like 15,000 to 200 to -500

it was like Einstein playing against the snl celebrity jeopardy contestants

not only did he know a ton of answers but he mastered the timing of the button and just buzzed in every time and then tried to answer the question

not to mention his book deal and endorsement deals

btw did you guys know that aside from owning jeopardy and wheel of fortune Merv Griffin has made 80 million dollars from writing that inane jeopardy theme alone!!

I didn't care too much for the show, Bob Saget is trying to follow in Howie Mandells footsteps but he doesn't seem to pull it off well. Howie based his who carrer on nitpicking and needling people just to annoy them for a laugh, which makes him so awesome on deal or no deal. Bob Saget seems like he doesn't know what he's doing, and it kept annoying me how he always try to convince the one person "are you sure you don't need help" after every question. And it be honest, I really doubt the mob will ever win because the setup is kind of weak. This show has great potential, but it seems as if once someone gets to the 100K mark, they can just take the money. No one will ever win the million in that game because you might lose it all at once, if they had safepoints like (you get to keep 10% of the winnings and the mob splits the rest)...Then yes, this show would be more appealing and that much better.

The show is okay, I'll watch it again...but I really wish they had safepoints so the mob might actually have a chance to win for once.
