Curious to know how many times the BB you guys like to raise when you're blind-stealing or legit-raising near the end of a MTT. (Final couple of tables, blinds getting high - think PStars rebuy tourney)

Also curious to know if there are any proven advantages or disadvantages to going with a low or high multiple.

I have this wonderful knack of getting to the final two tables...kinda often, actually...but never, ever getting to the final nine of the damn thing. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

Any wisdom, FCP?

In regards to blind raising....it depends on the size of the person's stack....usually 3x to 4x is sufficient. However, there are situtions where u want to overbet in order to scare evry1 out. You need to be careful when u do this tho, b/c a shortstack may decide to kamikaze in after ur raise.

If u are using the 3x,4x, or even 5x blind raises, if someone decides to go all in or re-raise u it is an easy fold. Just remember that after 2 or 3 more hands of raising like this u will have earned all of your money back.

I recently played a $200 MTT on Stars, I was one of the chipleaders at $270K with the blinds at 3000-6000. I literally went from $270K to ~$500K solely from blind raising, only had one showdown.

I usually raised $18,000 to $24,000....sometimes $36,000....I should mention that the rest of the field had stacks from ~80,000 to 150,000.

There were numerous times where someone would re-raise all in, and I would have to let the hand go. I knew 2-3 hands later I would be back to even or ahead. Just remember not to get caught up in the hand....and to think ahead.

I think where most people go wrong is that they raise 3x-4x the BB (probably on a steal), and then get reraised (all-in) by someone with 5-6 times the BB and decide that they have to call. I see so many people do that with maginal and even weak-ass hands and double people up late in the game for no good reason. If you get outbid, pass. You'll make it up later, and probably still remain ahead by not calling. Also, when some players see you fold in that situation they might try to take advantage of you when you have a ligit hand. Then you can crush them!

Eh, if I make it 3bb, they have 6bb, and there is say.. 2bb in blinds/antes, im getting nearly 4:1 on my call. I'll go with the equity here.
