Full Version: A Fun Challenge (for The Vets)

I'd like to play some $5 dollar tourneys on UB with Actuary and Copernicus on UB.

I'm sure the short amount we play won't mean much statistically, but at the same time I think we have some MTT disagreements and would like to put out to the FCP world some results on tourneys we have played together. It would be much like the weekly tourney, we would post hands in which we were involved and why we did what we did.

I don't mean the challenge to be inflammatory at all, but would like to have some friendly banter over our styles as I seem to be the conservative member of the MTT forum.

If there is some interest about this I'd like to partake in some Mtts. We'll see over the next couple days.

Why not deposit $20 on Stars and play in the strat mtt with us?
tskillz187
I just traded $11 on Wed, it's $11 tourney right? I should be playing in it if I can not drink my face off. The stars though is only like 11 people, the point of my post was to be in MTT scenarios with them, as I disagree with bigger field plays late in tourneys.

Not only wouldnt it mean much statistically, it wouldnt mean anything, especially as the size of the tournaments grow. Id suggest a middle ground which is the 20/180s on Stars. The field size is still big enough to be more "MTT" than Sitngo, but not so big as to make results largely a crap shoot. Total money won over a series of 20-40 of these might begin to show some statistical significance.

If there is a deeper stack version of the 20/180s that would even be better, since small ball has a better chance in these, and accumulator vs survivor is a more realistic alternative.

I agree Stars 180s would be much better.

Have you guys seen the 4/180 challenges at 2+2? They look interesting.

the problem with 4/180s is the players are nigh on impossible to read with the garbage they play and the moves they make. It turns superTAG preflop and hoping they dont hit their A2s raised UTG the only viable option.
Actuary
I see absolutely nothing to be gained by 3 of us playing in the same MTT, that can't be gained by not.

well, except bragging rights.

And a bit more credibility of results when youre facing the same competition when more than one gets into or close to the real money. Any single tourney still comes largely down to cards though , which is why a bunch of them are needed.

I guess you'd argue the title of this thread is not very fitting then.

well, fun, sure.

I"d hate for more weigt to be put on my ideas because I happen to go deeper on average, or make more money in total than you two after 50 MTT's.
As if what you all say means more/less now.

Since when did Actuary play MTTs?
tskillz187
I was just going to let this drop to the bottom, as it's not important to tourney strat and I was drunk when I created it.

Maybe we can have some FCP Tournament Strat MTT barrages to go along with the weekly tourney that is held.
