I think Villain just got moved to the table because I haven't seen him do anything..Is this push, knowing you have very little, if no fold equity?

Fold. Even with <7xbb you can find a better situation than this.

I didn't realize it at the time of the hand, but the blinds were going up in a minute and a half..Does that change anyone's answer?? Our M is going to be below 3 when blinds go up
Sefaje
i fold. you're OTB next hand so you'll have plenty of time to wait for a better spot

Even if the blinds just increased to the current level, your m is below 4. I'm pushing any A, K, Q when I get to m<=5.

Your in this tourney to win, KJ is a good enough hand in this position, push.

Besides, there's a really good chance MP2 is just trying to steal the blinds.

I either push or call, most likely push. The only reason I would call is to try and lure the BB into the hand, getting decent odds. I push any flop except an A if I called. KJ is too good a hand not to ride with this stack.

The one negative here is that the raise came from a short stack who has a big stack behind im on the button. If I had a strong read on him that he has an A then I might fold it. If his range includes middle pairs (which really should push here) then Im happy to race.

Wouldn't luring the BB into the hand set the table up for a potential squeeze play. BB has plenty of chips to push out MP2 and we would be faced with a tougher decision.

If I took that line, I would love a squeeze play from the BB..I'm commited to the pot regardless, and if it could push out the original raiser leaving 12 K of dead money in there, that would be fantastic

The next level is 2500/5000, correct? That doesn't really change the dynamic much. This is probably a push, but it's a Puke-and-Push situation. It's remotely possible that MP2 has a mid pair or a weak A, and was going to fold if button or BB pushed behind. Staggeringly bad with his chipstack, but possible. Which means you probably have two live cards. Whee.

I think I'd fold here.. I've been playing a lot of these $3+r's lately and found that tightening up quite a bit seems to be working out. You have a whole rotation until you're in the blinds and can probably pick a better spot/hand. Either make some steal's within the next two hands or hopefully find a better hand. I'm not a big fan of KJ because I find I'm usually dominated after facing a raise but that could just be since I have the worst luck in the world. But I'm gonna go with an easy fold here. Might be different if he was there for a while and you had him as LAG. Give him your 2k and move on.

It's definately an interesting line.

We probably don't have enough fold equity against BB, but I think we do against MP2. MP2 could put a big hole in BB's stack so unless BB has a really good hand I don't see him calling our push not knowing what MP2 will do.

Calling gives BB an excuse to see a relatively cheap flop and a chance to take the hand if he hits the flop.

KJ isn't a hand I want to get cute with. Wouldn't we prefer to get this heads up?

Meh I just ended up folding..With his stack, raising standard I think kind of ties him to the pot..If he's a smart player, he knows this and isn't raising anything but very solid hands, I'd say AQ (maybe AJ, doubt it) AK, 88 and up...

I ended up getting AK a few hands later and was nearly pissing myself with joy because I was UTG+1 with a 24K stack and blinds at 3/6 K..My range was so wide there and I felt if my opponents were competent, they should be calling me w/ a lot of weaker hands

Then it folded to the BB who had JJ...Flop KJ4..GG me, let the cursing begin

I had this whole conversation with myself

"How do I find AK here! Awesome!...How does he find JJ there? Blah a race...How does he hit his set while I get TPTK..Son of a b*tch, what the f*ck, that is soooo gheyyyyy, I hate tourney poker"

All that usually is summed up to one line: "Eff you, Lee Jones."

lol.....

I've been so card dead lately KJ is plenty good enough for me, especially with an effective M down around 3. My MTT luck has got to swing around to the better here sometime.

Unlucky there with him hitting a two-outer. Two-outers suck..... unless, of course, we catch one!
