Please keep in mind that this Bill says nothing about whether Online Poker is legal or not and doesn't affect or amend any current laws on the subject to my knowledge.

Also there is I believe a 270 day period for the financial services industry to come up with procedures to attempt to comply with the Bill so nothing should change in the short term.

The banking and financial services industry were the ones most opposed to this Bill and they feel it's either going to be unenforceable or will create a massive burden on them that they won't be able to comply with.

Nobody can really know what the fallout will be.

With Party, Stars, 888, Paradise all shutting off US players...Ongame will be soon to follow, I'd bet.

Unless they are smart...and DON'T...but I'd bet we are all gonna be up the creek.

That would be sweet.

I'm not worried about not being able to play - the decision will be made and I won't be able to have any effect on it. I just want assurance it is safe to have my funds still here - and that I will have ample notice to withdraw them if OnGame/FCP decide to not allow US players any more.

Yes, Bob. My dad suggested that I take a lot of money out of my online account. He said there's nothing stopping the owners of FCP from taking my money and running, since they won't have any customers anyway if the sites all go down.

I disagree with him though, and feel that my money is safe, but it would be nice to have some reassurance. Any thoughts?

I'm sure Bob is busy - but for your peace of mind; I spoke to him in the chat yesterday and he assured me nobody is running off with our money. If they decide to disallow US players to play, our funds will still be accessible to withdraw.

Hi troyomac, as a Canadian the legislation in the US doesn't have an effect on your relationship with FCP and we will continue to accept players from all around the World.

Even if the number of Americans playing at both FCP and On Game goes down there will be plenty of games as both FCP and On Game have a large number of players from around the World.

I know it can be hard to accept when we say trust us but all player's money is secure and the last thing anybody involved with FCP is thinking is not paying players what they are owed.
