bluff, 3 nines, lower straight??? same hand?

i see what you're saying, though...

do you think villian slow played a set until hitting the boat on the river?
simo_8ball
He was the BB. He could have anything. He could easily have picked up a flush draw on the turn. He could have 93.

The flush just hit AND the board paired. I don't know if there was a worse card in the deck that could have come on the river. Maybe the 10 icon_suit_club.gif .
I don't see why he would suddenly go crazy with a huge bet on a bluff, and if he has three 9s or a lower straight he cannot realistically get called by a worse hand.

I agree with simo here. Also the fact that you have to be right here very often when you make this call, turn this into a fold.

ty for the responses! bubble_rockroll.gif

just out of curiosity... do we call a smaller size bet on the river (half pot or less)?
simo_8ball
Half pot or less we call.
Pot we probably fold.

I believe the breakeven point lies in-between those figures.

Yes, absolutely.

Just to bring the point home, fold the river.
