Thanks Ollie. You and I need to discuss trade. I have 1 more deal I'm looking to swing before the season starts, and I feel your team matches up the best for me to do that with!

if you guys want a laugh, check out the page where all the teams rosters are listed, and then check to see how many views each person's team has got.
might give some inside information on who is most anal about their team!

To RMunro:

I like this deal for me down the road. Obviously, short term its a boost for your offense but overall i think it worked out well for me.
WestcoastCanuck
If you look at my team, I really needed a defenceman who can contribute now. Factor in Blake's tiny contract and the fact his style of play could allow him to be good for 4+ years, I felt I had to do it.

Without looking at team needs and team depth (I have a decent amount of D prospects), you won this deal in a landslide.

The original offer was for Smid instead of Bourdon. I'm not sure I would have accepted that deal.
MapleLeafs
I dropped Richard Zednik and added Aleksander Suglobov.

I was just loooking at my numbers for next year, and figure I can resign 17 players at $14.75 base salaries. The number will wind up being higher depending on where they all finish in the overall point standings. This should leave me with about $45.00 to sign 11 free agents. Maybe I will resign Kovalchuk!
MapleLeafs
Well, I've stuck my head out on the chopping block again with a HUGE blockbuster of a deal with the Tulane Flyers.

To Tulane
Ilya Kovalchuk ($16.00)
Andrei Markov ($1.50)
Philippe Boucher ($1.50)
Dustin Penner ($0.50)
$7.00 in salary for 2006-07
OPTION to switch our 2nd Rounders for 2007 Entry Draft
MapleLeafs 3rd Round pick in 2007

To MapleLeafs
Peter Forsberg ($7.75)
Scott Niedermayer ($2.75)
Alexei Zhitnik ($1.00)
Owen Nolan ($0.50)
$1.00 in salary in 2007-08
Tulane 1st Round pick in 2007

hard to believe Tulane fell for that one. When i first read the deal, i thought Tulane got the first-rounder. This makes Tulane very strong this year, but he'll be really crippled in the next 2-3 years, when he doesn't have ovechkin or kovy, and has no 1st-rounder.

assuming he doesn't extend them, he'll have the cap space to resign them, but with daveyg and biatch bidding as well, he'll still be in a tough spot.

i just wish tulane wasn't in my division!

He'll be able to sign 1 of them long term, perhaps both short term.

It's the only deal I got where the other manager wasn't requesting money in future years to help resign Kovy, so I had to make it work. Me getting money in the future was just a bonus.

Yes, he's a force this year now. Any night Kovy and Ovechkin both play, there's a chance the 2 of them alone will get him 6 points.

Time will tell if you get the short end of the Forsberg stick this year Jay.

Nice trade though, quite the blockbuster.

Currently tied for 1st place in the FCHL.

The asdfjkl; owner, Lord Biatch would like to congratulate his team on the 3-0 division road trip but to get ready for a tough schedule coming up ahead.

mrdannyg's team has initiated yet another rule change with his stupidity. goddamn last night sucked. not only was i forced to start NJ G against my beloved leafs, but they managed to beat the leafs AND give up 6 goals.

not only that, but we tied our FCHL game, but i lost the tiebreaker since I didn't designate an OT player. the kicker is that my OT player would've obviously been Jagr, who would've won the tiebreak against Thornton.

I can only hope that giving away this game will not haunt me in the future.

AP - For Publication
Oct. 19th, 2006

After getting off to a slow 0-3 start, the 2006-2007 Lost Cause has strung together back-to-back victories to climb out of the FCHL basement. Most impressively, the team put together a +3.5 performance in last night's action, a final score that would have been enough to defeat any team in the league.

Things are not all cake and roses in Rochester, NY however, as The Lost Cause has announced the benching of their Alternate Captain and highest salaried player, Wade Redden. This is due to the fact that Redden has failed to register a single point in any of the 4 games he's participated in thusfar, a statistic that LC leadership finds completely unacceptable.

Said Lost Cause GM Adam: "We recognize that Redden is an elite level talent and a very important cog in the Lost Cause wheel, however he hasn't shown very much in the early goings and we think this may be the competitive spark he needs to relight the fire inside him."

Starting in Redden's place for tonights game versus the league leading Blindsides will be Pittsburgh's Ryan Whitney, who has overcome a slow start of his own to register on the scoreboard in back to back FCHL games. Tonight's Lost Cause starting lineup in the interdivisional showdown between two of the hottest teams in the FCHL will be:

F - Patrice Bergeron (Boston)
F - Brad Richards (Tampa Bay)
F - Alexander Semin (Washington)
F - Miroslav Satan (NY Islanders) (OT)
F - Martin Erat (Nashville)
F - Alexei Kaigorodov (Ottawa)

D - Sergei Gonchar (Pittsburgh)
D - Ryan Whitney (Pittsburgh)
D - Lubomir Visnovsky (Los Angeles)
D - Derek Morris (Phoenix)

G - Nashville

Alexei Kaigorodov is making his FCHL debut this evening in place of Zach Parise, who will not be available as New Jersey is playing against Nashville (the LC's starting goaltending).

This evening's tentative lineup for the 5-0 Blindsides is:

Forwards

Evgeni Malkin, Pittburgh Penguins. OT
Jason Arnott, Nashville Predators
Phil Kessel, Boston Bruins
Tyler Arnason, Colorado Avalanche
Travis Zajac, New Jersey Devils
David Legwand, Nashville Predators

Defence

Ed Jovanovski, Phoenix Coyotes
Paul Martin, New Jersey Devils
Ryan Suter, Nashville Predators
--empty--

Goal

Los Angeles Kings

Blindsides GM Ollie was quoted as saying: "We have surpassed all our expectations of where we wanted to be at this stage of the year but we must now look to kick on and make sure our fast start isnt wasted. Tonight is a very tough game for us against a Lost Cause squad that is running hot, and we are icing an exceptionally young lineup. It is our hope that the youthful enthusiam of the likes of Malkin, Kessel and Zajac will carry us to victory."

Good luck to both teams.

Today in the FCHL:

The Tulane Flyers officially staked their claim to the league title, acquiring Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton prior to the trade deadline for a wealth of future stars, draft picks, and salary:

Tulane (Mad Mike) acquired:

Joe Thornton
Dany Heatley
$24.50 in 06-07 salary
2nd Round Pick in 2009 (from Broadway)

Fenxis acquired:

Dustin Penner
3rd Round Pick in 2007
4th Round Pick in 2008

Broadway acquired:

Conditional 1st round pick in 09 (via Tulane)
3rd round pick in 08 (via Tulane)
2nd round pick in 07 (via Tulane with transferred option to swap with ML)
$4 in 07-08 salary
$2 in 08-09 salary
Mike Ribeiro - Dal (0.50)

Condition on 1st round pick in 09 - If Tavares is available with this pick, Tulane has the OPTION to reacquire this pick for his next available pick in this draft, as long as it is at least a 3rd round pick, his next available 1st round pick AND his next available 4th round pick.

The combined comment from the rest of the FCHL (myself included):

WestcoastCanuck
I think Fenxis could have got more for Thornton.

My Predictions, teams in bold make playoffs:

Supreme:-Toughest division for second straight year.

asdfjkl;-Front loaded defending champions. Only injuries or a hurricane can stop this team.
Golden Seals-New owner/GM, team name and location. Not a whole lot of change in personnel from team that won 45 games last year tough. Can Stamkos do it again?
BlackDevilHawks Afterthought in tough division. Very deep and solid forwards, kinda weak defense after top 3. Should make the playoffs, but can they get out of the first round?
Broadway- Lost some firepower, but still a good team. Will make a run for the post season. Must lean on goaltending to keep them in games.
Fearsome Beavers- Could be most improved team in division. Signed some talent in Free Agency. Could surprise and sneak into playoffs.

Tugnutt:- Not bad, but not great either.

Halifax Moneyshots-Last year's division winner should repeat. The real excitement is waiting to see what their GM will do at the trade deadline.
Blindsides- Best defensive unit in the league. Made playoffs last year and will challenge for a spot this year.
Injured Reserve- Another playoff team from a year ago, no big changes made.
K.C. Reserves- Improved defense but will battle Tulane for division cellar.
Tulane Flyers- Good young guns on the big boy club now. Team is starting to look like a respectable club again. No playoffs yet.

Gilmour: Oh how the mighty have fallen

Hurricanes-Most hated team in the league for letting Biatch win a championship, powerhouse still a force to be reckoned with.
Ottawa Limidonks- Much improved team, but can they be first expansion team in playoffs?
Whalers- Needs to avoid injuries to make it back into playoffs after missing out last year.
Lost Cause- In contention for #1 overall pick?
BetmanAles-Starting selling after his first Free Agent signing. Look for more changes.

SHOULD BE ANOTHER GREAT YEAR IN THE FCHL!
