My brother is into sportsbetting, I asked him to look around for the best odds on those teams after I saw the post here. I figure if I win either of those bets, I'll buy a nice jersey or something out of the $900 in unexpected income.

two reasons
1. hes a good goalie, horrible last night though
2. they're playing back-to-back games, so each goalie was going to start one of the two, no number one goalie for the Bruins yet. If both stay healthy, it'll probably break 50/30 Toivonen

i saw a stat earlier this off season that had fernandez numbers compared to thomas' and they were near identical despite the fact manny had the minn system working for him. thomas could oust his way back into the number 1 job.

Yes, Thomas was in no way to blame for the record the Bruins showed, he and Savard we're MVP's for the team, I saw so many games where Tim Thomas would be standing on his head the whole game and for the better part of it his team would still be in the contest.

Have you watched much of the Wild in the last few seasons? Their system is not nearly as trap-happy as it used to be. Also, Fernandez had an off year because of a knee injury that he aggravated roughly 15 times.
I should probably stop arguing this and start offering trades for him in the Yahoo league.

Minnesota isn't completely trap happy, but they can still go an entire period without giving a good team a legitimate scoring chance. Just like with Roloson, it is hard to get a complete handle on how good Fernandez is until he leaves Minnesota. It is no coincidence that every goalie Minnesota has ever had has shown good numbers. I'm not saying Fernandez is bad by any means, him and Thomas would make a good platoon.

Well that was a much better game for Boston. There were a lot of good things for them in this game. The powerplay looked decent, Thomas was solid, the forechecking was good. Defence was meh, but that's expected. Thomas needs to work on not giving up rebounds, but every time he did he made the 2nd save as well. Schaefer, Bergeron, and Kobasew stood out tonight.
Negatives from this game were getting outshot pretty badly, though it might have been closer on scoring chances, as a lot of Phoenix' shots weren't great quality. Also Savard didn't play very well and then sat out the 3rd with some sort of injury.
Hopefully Thomas gets the start again against Anaheim next game.
