I guess defencemen and 4th liners don't count.

No, 4th liners don't count and defensemen only count if they're not easily replaced...like Chara.

Yeah I guess Ward and Ference are easily replaced by rookie defencemen. Kobasew was injured for a while too but I won't count him because he sucks.

I'm not sure whether you're agreeing or arguing but either way, yeah...Hunwick has stepped in and been better than the guy he replaced. And yes, Kobasew does suck.

Well I was trying to argue that 2 of the Bruins top Dmen have been injured too. Ward for like 11 games, and Ference most of the season. I agree that Kobasew sucks.

So just to sum up your past few posts from what I gather...

"Boston is over-achieving because Wheeler has been consistant, Krejci's been fantastic, and not enough of their star players are getting injured."

I was asked if I thought Boston was playing above their heads. I believe they are and I suggested a few reasons why I believe they are overachieving. You can sum it up anyway you see fit.

Fair enough. I guess I agree that they are overachieving but it's hard for any team not to be when they have only lost 9 games out of 36. I definately don't expect them to keep this pace, but it just always feels like people aren't giving them enough credit. Also I disagree with your reasons as to why they are overacheiving.

They were #1 in the TSN power rankings...what other credit is there to give?

Also, I have other reasons why I think they're overachieving but it would just be labelled Bruin-bashing by a Habs fan.

Wow! Look for Wheeler's 2nd goal of the game on the highlights of the night tonight!

I was at that game in St. Louis. That goal was sick.

Rocking those Bruins posts. Didn't see too much of the game last night, girlfriend family dinner, but Kessel is continuing to pot goals at an unexpected pace. I'm really glad for him, he's been through some rough stuff and criticism, but it seemed like that benching in the playoffs last year really did the trick to get him motivated.

The guy is TERRIFIC! I predict he'll be the next Sidney Crosby smile.gif

bump for the pending Penguin ass kicking that is about to be unveiled.
Zach6668
I think it'll be a good game. Boston is a great team, though. With the slump the Pens have been in, a loss would obviously not be surprising. The team played crazy well against the Habs, so I expect them to bring the same intensity tonight.

not a good pic as you put it up...it looks like the Penguin is giving it up the ass to the bear...lol

Lol. And if I put it the other way it'll look like the bear's sniffing the penguin's ass... my mistake

this is one of the games I like to watch tonight, during the Leafs breaks obviously...

Good thing to report that TSN2 is showing Jersey and St Louis..So i should be able to pick all the other games.
troyomac
Tonight was a pretty good game by the Bruins, they played way better than they did against Atlanta the other day. Hopefully we keep the momentum up as we play the Pens again at home on Thursday.
serge
good game...its obvious this team is head and shoulders above most of the league..well deserved win..

I'll be seeing the Bruins tonight....the Providence Bruins when they come to town to take on the Manchester Monarchs tonight for the New Years Eve game. Weeee.

At the end of the 2006-2007 season the Boston Bruins were in shambles..they finished 13th in the conference with 76 points a full 16 pts out of a playoff spot...They were a franchise in disaster...They were coming off one of the worst trades in NHL history and they had no hope...

Less than 2 years later they are arguably the best team in Hockey...

good job

They are definately playing great hockey, and the best part is how young they are. I'm hoping we'll be a great team for a few years now.

We lost today, but I still thought the team played great... although Timmy didn't look too great. Miller played amazing for the Sabres. All good things must come to an end, the win streak was great while it lasted though!

Wtf is with Ward getting injured again? This must be so frustrating for him.
serge
Its ok Ray, dont worry after my praise of the team they are 0-2...its not a jinx unless they lose at least 5..

Serge, I know it's not your fault. I wish I would have known the stats before after the game, but I think Boston's only beat the Wild once in like 9 games now.

The Wild match up very well against Boston because Minnesota is very good at clogging up the middle of the ice and Boston's attack is based on charging into the offensive zone through the middle.

Well Kessel got snubbed from the all star game, but Savard and Thomas will suit up.
I hope they pound Ottawa tonight, and come out angry from last game.

Isn't Chara in too? I have a feeling Kessel will be in next year's and probably a lot more in his career.

B's need to get back on track tonight.. a home game against Ottawa should be a cure, but games aren't won based on paper, so let's hope to see a great effort tonight!

Yeah big Z will be there too, Bruins are well represented.

Good start early.

On a side note, saw the P-Bruins again in Manchester last night. They lost in overtime but Scott Mellanby was there doing some scouting for the St. Louis organization, as Scott was a long time Panther, that made me giddy.

A plastic rat signed by Mellanby would be awesome.

that makes more sense..the article said at LEAST a week ...

Tough blow for the Bruins
Speed Limit
Mono varies on a case by case basis and only Kessel can know when he's ready to step back on the ice. It could very well be a week-ish that he'll be out, for all we know he's just minorly exhausted and breaking out in a rash. 9 weeks is a joke, that won't happen.
coesillian
Damn hard team to beat them B's.

The habs had their chances to tie it up. We sent 2 behind Thomas but missed the net.

gg

Fwiw, Kennedy was out with Mono last year, and missed 6 weeks.

The way the article makes it sound to me, is that when a player is put on injured reserve, he must remain there for a week. I don't think the author is estimating how long kessel will be out, rather how long a player has to sit out when being placed on the IR.
troyomac
Ugh, I was pretty upset that I didn't get to see the Bruins/Habs game. A few guys went with me and Zach to the ESPN zone at New York New York so we could watch some hockey games, but they decided not to show the Bruins game sad.gif
We all had bets on Pittsburgh though so we enjoyed that game.

Yes a player must remain on IR a minimum of 7 days. It can be retroactive to the last game he played.

anyone watching the game..Why did Legace get pulled right away..Injury or just because a poor goal, or he has reservations for an inauguration party?

I just woke up to see a very exciting last 12 minutes. Not sure if St. Louis' last goal should have counted or not, but it was close. Nice effort from the Blues to not give up down 2 late.
