I'm setting up a home cash ring game with friends and neighbors but have never played NL since they don't have it here in MN. I have played Tourneys though don't get me wrong.
I plan on having it be a $50 buy in and everyone for that gets $2000 in chips.
What would be a good chip selection for ten people?
I'm assuming (Hate to do that) that the SB is $1 and the BB is $2 and being no limit it goes up from there is this correct?

A cash ring game is a cash game, you're talking about a tournament, right?

Yeah I think he means a tournament as he refers to the chips in play being higher than the buy-in since I assume it isn't a freezeout or anything.

If you're going to use $2k in chips...I would start with something like $5/$10 blinds and inc every 20-30 min or so depending on how fast you want the game to be.

If you are referring to a cash ring game of $1/$2NL the blinds don't increase and I would just use chip values which are the equivalent of whatever someone is buying in for so as to avoid confusion later paying out when someone wants to quit the game.

$50 doesn't play in most $1/$2NL games that I know of. The buyin usually ranges from $60 min - $300 max.
