2/4 five

I'm in MP with K icon_suit_spade.gif 8 icon_suit_spade.gif .

UTG raises, I three-bet, Button cold-calls three, blinds fold, UTG calls.

(10.5 sb, 3 plrs) J icon_suit_heart.gif 8 icon_suit_heart.gif 4 icon_suit_diamond.gif

UTG bets, I raise, Button folds, UTG calls.

(7 bb, 2 plrs) K icon_suit_heart.gif

UTG bets, I raise, UTG three-bets, I call.

(13 bb, 2 plrs) 6 icon_suit_spade.gif

UTG bets, I call.

UTG was a superfish. He played 100% of his hands preflop.

He sometimes raised preflop, many of those times I did not get to see what he had. I saw him limp with A4o and JTo, and the only hand he raised that went to showdown was the hand right before this, he had K5o. This was very surprising (Caro's law of loose wiring maybe) that he raised K5o but not A4o or JTo.

His postflop play was beautiful, maybe better than his postflop play. He would go to the river 100% of the time, with any runner runner draw, any pair draw, just EVERYTHING. Sometimes he would go to showdown with a missed draw.

He always led out with any pair on the flop. I saw him bet and three-bet a raise only once, and that was against me. He had Q9 on a Q85 board, and I had raised preflop. He bet into me out of position, I raised, he three-bet instantly (and to his credit, he was good =D). This made me think that on the one hand, it doesn't take much for him to three-bet the flop. But I had never seen him three-bet past the flop.

I have seen him hit insane runner runner draws three times (two running gutshots and one running boat). One gutshot he was in position and the bettor was betting each street so he just called both the flop and river. The other gutshot and the boat I don't remember. This makes me very unsure of how he plays his draws out of position -- I have no idea if he semi-bluffs, and if he does, whether he three-bets it or just calls a raise, etc.

That is all the read that I had on him at the time.

Given all that, is there any part of the hand you dislike or would play differently? Was I too aggressive overall? Maybe even too passive on the turn/river?

I can explain my logic real quick, but if you don't want to get influenced by my reasoning, please reply before you read this.

Preflop: must... isolate... any.... decent.... hand....

Flop: must.... isolate.... could... be... good.... against... his.... bottom.... pair...

Turn: holy smokes Batman, I don't know what his donkbet means, I have never seen this, but me have two pair me raise! holy ****, he three-bet. Flush? Probably not KJ because he would have three-bet flop I believe... flush??? I call down.

River: insta-call.

Excuse my silliness, it is late and I am tired.

This superfish went bust around four or five times is my guess, $20 each time. I think the majority of that money went to me. I would cheer when he would hit miracle draws for huge pots against the other people at the table (almost all of whom also sucked but not nearly to the same extent) because I knew it would eventually come to me as soon as I got a hand. =D

I have been killing 2/4 shorthanded lately, FWIW... I love hunting out these super donks that love to donate their money. I think I'm around +$600 in a total of around 25 table-hrs. If estimate around 100 hands/table-hr, that's about 24 BB/100 lately. Haha, beautiful, but I know the swings of short-handed poker will bite me in the *** very soon. They almost did -- in that time, I had a 5 table-hr stretch for about -$300, which had potential to be much worse. Such is this game.

Okay, good night all, I am exhausted.

Thanks,
Aseem

you messed up on the turn. U said button 3bet instead of utg

If he goes for runner runners, I say cap the turn - anyone mind this?

If he checks river, bet, otherwise call.

If he's a super fish, He's going to the river and seeing your hand no matter what. I would think a majority of the time your hand here is good to put in this extra bigbet (the cap on the turn, since there'll be one more bet on the river either by you or him).

whoops, thanks, fixed.

The runner runner thing -- I don't like that logic at all. Where do you get the idea that runner runner has anything to do with his bet/call - bet/threebet actions?

Can you explain why you think my hand is good a majority of the time to put in one more big bet?

oh

i didn't see the part about not seeing him 3bet past the flop

I played as is due to fact that he's super fish and I have 2pair shorthanded

I'd rather go for a cold call and get some volume going if u hit. when u are three betting someone like this, you need a hand that has some sort of showdown value, K8s is far from that. as far as everything else, it looks fine
