while playing on party today i noticed that it is now showing country instead of city when putting the mouse over a player's name. i wonder why they even want to show players as USA with all of the controversy regarding accepting bets from players in the US. is this new today?

They want their European customers to know who the fish are. USA is all we need to know...

I did see omaha hi/lo offered as well. Just one omaha tab but they had both omaha hi and omaha hi/lo offered at most money levels.

You guys think I'm trying to be funny?

There was a conference a couple months ago here in Sweden where representatives from basicly all the big poker networks attended. At this conference they presented some facts.

One of these facts were that, on average, Americans were the worst players (loses most), closely followed by Brittish players, regardless of poker game.

I'd post the link to the magazine that reported this but it's in swedish so I don't think it would matter =)

seeing as the mojoiry of online players are american i dont doubt we have the most number of crappy players (which is probably what you actually meant) but i'd also assume that we also have the most number of great players.

i dont really care either way where my money comes from, cuz when i cashout its all in USD already.

Generalizations can be dangerous. A little bit of information applied incorrectly can ruin your run in a heart beat.

At least you're aiming to be the best, even the best of the worst is a lofty goal!

I think this would have more to do with the fact that the US has the most online players, followed by Britain.

Saying players from one country are worse than another is stupid. I'd also imagine the US has slightly (ever so) better players because poker is actually played in homes in the US, where it certainly isn't in many European households.

Most Euros probably never played poker before the boom.

Of course, you are right about that, that's why I wrote on average. There are a lot of american players that suck. But also a lot of players that are really good.

Now on to some patriotic rants: Two Swedes won a bracelet this year, and there where about 45 events, so that means that 1/22,5 of the events where won by swedes. Sweden has a population of about 9 million. USA has about 300 million citizens. 9/300 = 1/33,33. So that means sweden won more than we should, statisticly =)

Ok, end rant...

There are lots of really bad players from Sweden too, ever played at Svenska Spel? I'm pretty sure that's the fishiest site on the internet.

meh, cant use total population, gotta use total population of poker players.

and when we start to use our brains......cant use # of bracelets, gotta use amount of cash's....oh wait, not just tourney cashes.....all net of win/lose sessions.

so after you somehow get a read on the number of poker players in each country (shouldnt take long) go ahead and compile all the net wins/loses amount. shouldnt take too long
