Raise preflop. Isolating with A8s OTB is major in SH play. Try to get HU with the limper, the blinds provide dead money.

Raise flop. Take control of the hand, your hand is most likely best.

At 1/2 or higher I would raise this pf on the button, but I have such little fold equity at these limits.

On the flop if i raise, he might fold a J or a different complete bluff that he has. It's something screech preached alot about here so I thought I'd try it.

It's a raise preflop for value, not just fold equity.

It's a clear raise.

this is dumb thinking, just get into good habits and raise my man, and raise the flop

Raise preflop for value.
Make limpers pay!

I occassionally call down passively against certain single opponents to mix things up.

But you can never go wrong with raising the flop for value to make a weaker hand pay an extra bet.
I think rasing the flop is better than waiting to raise until the turn which can get pricey if you are behind.
