$0.25-$0.50 blinds $20 buy in cash game

I've been playing pretty conservative since the game is pretty loose (4-7players to a flop) Showed down 2 decent hands, top pair top kicker, two pair, played 5 hands in an hour and a half (besides check folding blinds)

Hand #1

Ah-10h middle position 3 limpers. I raise to $2 and get a call from the small blind. limper +2 UTG raises to $10. I've seen this guy make a play with check raises twice on the flop when he thinks the guy has nothing. Action to me and I call. I put the guy on a small pocket pair and think he's making a play to pick up the pot right there and I hope that I can bet him if the flop comes with some scare cards or make my hand. Then the small blind calls. Flop comes King high with no flush or straight possibilities. Both players check to me and I bet $10. Small blind calls, preflop raiser folds. Turn is a Jack and it's checked to me, I bet $8 all-in and the small blind calls with pocket 9's and I rebuy for $10.

What could I have done differently in this hand besides the obvious fold preflop?

Hand #2

Pocket 10's. New player in the game ( It's his first hand) I have $11.25. This is a player I usually play with a lot and I don't consider him a strong player. It gets to him and he throws a $10 chip out. Dealer says it's a call and he complains a little that he wanted to raise but is forced to call. Fold to me and I bet $2. Both blinds call and the guy makes it $9 total. I don't think he's capable of limp re-raising with a big pocket pair as it's very out of character for him and I think he has a hand like AQ. I ponder and decide my 10's are best and raise all-in. Blinds fold and he calls with QQ.

Should I be raising smaller.....I definatley have some major holes in my game and haven't been able to make a big....shoot even a minor laydown lately. I usually beat this game big but have had some major set backs the last couple weeks.

Your suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

If the game is loose, you should play more hands, although with a smaller buyin, your implied odds are way down.

I raise more, or I limp. You either want this hand to be HU, or multiway.

I fold, but it's ok to go with your read sometimes. I'm assuming you both have $20 (stack size is important), if so, it's probably not a good idea to put in half of your stack with ATs.\

$10 into a pot of like $35 is weak. All of the draws are calling without a problem.

And you leave yourself $8 behind!? If you are really going to bluff, commit to selling it man. This is precisely the reason you fold preflop.

Results don't mean anything. Rebuy for $20.

Honestly, to save all of these problems, don't CALL off $10 of your $28 stack in preflop with ATs. Plain and simple.

Rebuy.

Dude. He made it pretty clear he wanted to raise in the first place. While he technically is LRR'ing, he really wanted to raise in the first place. This is an INCREDIBLY EASY LAYDOWN.

Na, your raise is good. You told people you had a strong hand, he said his was better, get the hell out of the way.

You're welcome smile.gif

Btw, the more hands you post/reply to, the better you will become.
