So, here's the deal. For some reason, I'd been soooooo suspiscious when players overbet into me, that I've been calling and losing. I'm looking to turn the tables here and put that overbet in my arsenal.

On this particular hand, I'm also concerned with the flop play, so comments on that would be cool.

Oh, and raise pf?

Ty.

id raise preflop, but other than that it looks good

i looooooooooooove the overbet on the river, i think it's more effective on the end, but the turn is ok too. In this specific case I don't think it's going to work, because a lot of donks just push when they make their draws, this is much more effective if you have a deceptive hand as opposed to when an obvious draw hits, but that's just me, nothing wrong with overbetting the pot IMO

I don't think it was very deceptive in this particular scenario..I would've read it like a weak flush. Probably not getting a call.

The thing about this is that I only have like $62.50 left into a pot of $47.50, so I'd have to make a strong bet on the turn here I think in order to protect my hand from A icon_suit_spade.gif, 33, 66, etc

I think, he played his hand strongly enough on the flop for me to think he's probably too attached to it to fold here.

I would prefer a river overbet, of course, but clearly, since we're both pretty short at this point, not really an option.

What do you guys put the villain on?

I don't mind the limp pre-flop, particularly given that there was already a limper and this is full-ring. Based on the fact that UTG limped pre-flop and then looking at his flop betting, I'd say this is 90% likely to be a set of 3's or 6's and 10% that it's AJ. Assuming the set for the moment, it's tough to say whether your overbet is going to get called when the flush hits. I'd say no. Now, if you really want to get more money in the pot, then you need to lay him some odds he might be worth gambling with. If you bet around $35, you give him 2.35:1 odds to call (with maximum implied odds of 3.1:1). He's only 4:1 to improve, but he might be willing to gamble with you. And, if he doesn't improve, he might feel compelled to call your last $27 on the river getting over 4:1 on his money.

After considering for longer, I'm thinking he may have a set, when at first I put him only on a strong J.

Overbetting is a little better IMO than I first gave it credit for, seeing as a set is more likely than the consideration I first gave it. Still, it would be difficult for the villain NOT to put you on the flush at least 50% of the time.
