After going in with high expectations last year I don't expect much out of the Jets this year. I just hope to see progress and a step forward in the right direction.

I hope so. I was very happy when he was picked as this line hasn't been very good in recent years.

Dolphins of course. (Since it seems to always slip right by people...the Cane in CaneBrain= Miami Hurricanes.)
And I dont suck. I did however hear that Sports Illustrated has picked the Dolphins to go to the Super Bowl. Fantastic. They might as well just run over to Duante Culpepper's house and hit him in the knee with a pipe.

My favorite Jets Miami moment had to be in 2000 - Monday Night Football. Miami leading 30-7 at the start of the 4th quarter. Jets score 30-some points and take the win in overtime. That was a great game.
I (my family) have had season tickets to the Jets since I was 6 years old. This would've been my 20th season had I not moved out of state. I hope to make it home for at least one game this year as I will miss it greatly. But I also do not have very high hopes for their season. Adding Dbrick was nice, but losing John Abraham was quite crappy.
All I really want is for us to beat the dolphins in week 16 to eliminate their playoff hopes. That is a victory in and of itself!

We'll have to wait and see. However, if he doesn't show some signs of the Pennington a few years ago we should definately give Clemens a shot.

Pennington has a ridiculously accurate arm, but even before he was drafted, scouts were leary about his arm strength and they were right.
I think the Jets had one of the best drafts of any team in the NFL.

Nice start for Pennington! He now leads the league in passing. The defense was good as I expected. The fumble for the TD sucked, but what can you do? They won. However, what the hell was up with Nugent? He missed an extra point and a couple of 30 yard field goals. He almost cost us the game.
The Jets are going to be a lot better than people think.

Nugent seriously needs to get his act togther. A 2nd round draft pick should not miss those kicks. He was pretty lousy last year as well.

I think he'll win it if the Jets make the playoffs. They were projected to win 5.5 games this year and they by far and away exceded those expectations. They control their own destiny now. I haven't been this pumped for a football game since 04.

I'm super psyched right now about this team. But this win highlighted some huge flaws. Our run defense gets cut up by mediocre rb's, the running game is useless on first down, and Pennington's lack of armstrength (which the announcers tonight reminded us of ever 8 seconds) left Washington and Coles in very vulnerable positions. Not to mention one of of Pennington's underthrown out passes should have been intercepted. Finally, we've been lucky that Graham's holding mishaps haven't cost us. But Nugent was good again, the special teams had another solid game (with the exception of the punt fumble which was unlucky) the defense got the job done when they had to, and the TD pass was perfect. I hope they come out fired up next week. This is exactly the kind of game that the "same ole jets" would lose in excruciating fashion.

I don't think they'll get stomped. They played both teams really close during the regular season and beat the Pats in Foxborro. With the Colt defense and the way Peyton Manning plays in the postseason they aren't exactly a lock either. I think that San Diego or Baltimore would stomp us though.

This is just silly. The jets match up great against Indy. We have no run defense, but they have no running game. Our running game sucks, but they have no run defense. And if there's anyone who can figure out a way to confuse Manning, it's Mangini. On paper we're pretty screwed against the pats, but we already beat them, so go figure. I'm just afraid to see what LT would do against our d.

Just an opinion. Whatever you thought of last night's game against the dolphins....pennington looked like CRAP. I think he is a terrible cold/bad weather QB which does not bode well if they have to face NE. I think the Pats would stomp them.
The points about the Colts from you and Yoda are valid. I might have been talking a bit out of bitterness. They could give the Colts a run but I dont see them winning at RCA. And Yoda....that 41-0 game was a very very different time. NFL changes too much from year to year to read anything into that.
