Oh man, I love Singletary, he was my favorite player as a kid. He's going to be just want the niners need, if they hire him full time.

Tonights game was a step in the right direction. Hill looked great for the first three quarters, then blew it in the 4th.

terrible play calling on the goal line there. Just terrible. They could have run 3 passing plays there. I dunno about Singletary.
Listen, niners fans, you need to think of it this way. You have 5 superbowls. there are 32 teams in the league. You've had more than your fair share, you're set until like 2130, so don't sweat it, be happy with your memories of greatness.

Yeah, I guess we are the best team in the Super Bowl era. I know that the Cowboys and Steelers also have five, but we were a perfect 5 for 5 and the first to five. We will get back to our dominating ways.

Sigh, last 45 seconds were pathetic.
My feeling on the last play is that Martz called the fb dive when they thought the ball would be at the 1 or so (where it was marked before the replay), and then they never changed the play call. Inexcusable obviously, but I can't see any other reason for calling a fb dive from the 2.5 with the defense crowding the line. They will never admit that I'm sure, but that was my first reaction.
Hill and O'Sullivan are like Steve DeBerg; like Bill Walsh (rip) once said of him: "He's just good enough to get you beat." I think they both qualify for that statement.
As I've gotten older, I've become less of a 49ers fan, and more of just an NFL fan, but I still can't help from getting emotionally involved in a game like that. Blah.

Great game today. I think that the 49ers are buying into Singletary and his coaching style. Yes it was against the 2-7 Rams, but they showed more heart and hustle than I've seen in a couple years.

When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong. I thought MS was cruising for a firing, after the craziness that went on the first couple weeks.. but then.. the team completely responded to him, and is playing hard.
I don't know why Martz would want to be back, his philosophy is pretty much diametrically opposed to Singletary's conservative power run and defense.

I'd rather be a Niner's fan right now than a Bears fan ( which I am) or a Cowboys fan..... At least the Niner's have hope, something to look forward to in the future. The bears are on a slow, agonizing downward arch, and the Cowboys are flawed like a Greek Epic tragedy or something.

Actually, San Fran is not in that bad of shape at all. They have a solid team in a weak division, a couple losses going the other way they would have won that division.

And Linehan ends up taking the Lions job and moving his family to Detroit?????? Detroit - nicer place than the bay area and the Lions obviously have a better shot at winning than the Niners.....
