CO is a LAG who raises 3xbb almost every time he has the chance to open. Saw him do so UTG a few hands ago and show down Kd9d. I was planning a reraise from the BB until SB came in. No reads on SB. Thoughts?

Seems like an easy fold to me.

Might not even call the raise preflop.

Two heros existed in my op apparently...fixed.

Looks like we're getting 2.74-1 on our call, so I'd be pretty tempted to call this based on the fact that he could easily be on a draw. We only need to win 27% of the time to make it profitable.

I gave him this range...

99+,66,AdKd,AdQd,AdJd,ATs,Ad8d,Ad7d,Ad6d,Ad5d,Ad4d,Ad3d,Ad2d,KdQd,KdJd
,KTs,QTs+,JTs,T9s,ATo,KTo,QTo+,JTo,T9o

We're 45.5% against that range, so even though we're "behind", I think it's a call.

If we think he might be tighter than that and narrow to...

99+,66,AdKd,AdQd,AdJd,ATs,Ad6d,KdQd,KdJd,KTs,QJs,ATo,QJo

We're still 33.2%, so we should still be calling.

Basically, we have to narrow him down to TPTK or better in order to be able to fold. Given the board texture, I'm not sure we can do that.

Cobalt, I thought pretty hard about this one and they tended to drift toward your decision here. What do the "+" on some of the hand values you gave mean?

99+ = 99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA
QTs+ = QTs, QJs

It's what PokerStove uses for short.

where's 78 or 89, these aren't likely enough with no reads?

I was thinking the same thing, however the guy would have to either be LAG himself or just plain stupid to call a PF raise with connectors (suited or not) whilst having no reads of his own

Reraise preflop. The SB calling does not signal massive strength. Calll the push on the flop.

Possibilities certainly...though I don't consider them entirely likely. Even if they're included, I think they wash each other in the calculation.
