Since there is not a movie forum I thought I'd start a thread where you can add movie recommendations, especially for movies the general public hasn't heard much about (like independent movies), or highly publicized movies that you think should be seen.

To start off I'm a huge fan of all movies, and usually watch any movie given the opportunity. Last night I was invited to go see Beerfest not knowing anything about the movie. I came to find out it was made by the same guys who made Super Troopers. This movie was funny as hell, but was trashed by critics. If you think about it, the content was stupid, but if you go to see it with your buddies you won't even think about the content because of all the weird sh_it that goes on. I saw this with a packed theater (all high school college age kids) which made it even better.

Anyways I'll give a short synopsis without revealing much. During Oktoberfest in Germany there is an underground place (think fight club) where different nations face off in different beer drinking games. The US guys find it and get embarrased their first try and train for the next year's competition.

There is a little more to the story, but doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things. The German team is hilarious. German members include Will Forte from SNL and the guy who played Jim Carrey's character Harry from the crappy Dumb and Dumber remake. The US team is pretty much all the same guys from Super Troopers.

Anyways I highly recommend this movie, try to get a little drunk before if you can, and if you all have any other movie recommendations please add them.

(edit) There was a preview of a movie with Jon Heder from Napoleon Dynamite coming out that looks funny as hell so look out for that.

Sorry man... lol. I can't get the picture of Gam Gam stroking that sausage out of my head.

I'm more preoccupied with the "Ramathorne" (don't remember his character's name) and black chick sex scene.

I really liked Clerks II. It was the first movie I saw in the theatres in a long time.

Only thing I can think of thats not really mainstream off the top of my head is City of God, an interesting look at teenage streetlife in Brazil.

i wouldn't classify it as a "good" movie, but overall it makes you think a bit. sometimes i like thinking.

saw Beerfest. Started out by more than rivaling "Super Troopers", but then it got out of hand and slid downhill fast.

Still worth seeing, but I would only slightly recommend it.
