What are some of the strategy adjustments in SnGs for the limit form of poker? What other necessary adjustments needed for high-low split games? Thanks.
I can usually build my stack up early, but then the blinds turn the tournament into a crapshoot it seems.
Limit tournaments play exactly the same as limit cash games until the blinds get to the point where the average or slightly above average number of bets exceeds the stack sizes of a few players. Those players are likely to be getting desperate and are more likely to call with junk hoping to hit for there last few chips and you can exploit them. Watch out for coordinated flops though.
Once the blinds get big relative to even the big stacks, your basically back to NL tournament strategy.
H/L split tournies do wind up as crapshoots shorthanded. You really need to know short handed values well, especially in a game like O8 where pre-flop probabilties of winning are pretty flat. I doubt whether many of us have a lot of shorthanded experience in those games, which makes it an uphill battle.
