Bodog 8/16 LHE (6-handed)

Cobalt is MP w/ Q icon_suit_club.gif J icon_suit_club.gif. UTG is an overaggressive monkey with a VPIP of ~98%. He raises/3-bets/caps almost every pot pre-flop. I've been 3-betting him almost every time I've decided to play a pot. He does show some post-flop restraint, but he's still prone to bluff on later streets when shown weakness. The table's playing fairly loose. SB is a bit loose with a penchant for bluffing. BB is fairly solid. Not much of a read on CO (he's fairly new).

Pre-flop:
UTG raises, Cobalt calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls

Flop (10 SB): T icon_suit_club.gif 4 icon_suit_spade.gif 2 icon_suit_club.gif (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Cobalt calls, CO raises, 3 folds, Cobalt calls

Turn (7.5 BB): Q icon_suit_diamond.gif (2 players)
Cobalt bets, CO calls

River (9.5 BB): 4 icon_suit_heart.gif (2 players)
Cobalt bets, CO calls

Final Pot: 11.5 BB

Im not sure what to think of the preflop CC. During the hnad I would have probably just 3-bet him, but I think this line might be better given the loose nature of the table, but im not sure.

I like the flop play because alot of the hands in which we would like to have fold on the flop(KQ, AQ etc.) would have probably raised preflop unless they either werent paying attention to pfr raising standards or they are just passive.

Im not really sure whats best on turn either.

What are you doing on the river if you dont improve and he raises you on the turn(assuming you just call his turn raise)?

only thing I don't like is pF

I like to 3bet to isolate the maniac, otherwise, i like

3-bet preflop.

If you think a 3-bet is highly likely to succeed in getting heads-up with the nutjob, then I think you should 3-bet preflop.

But, if your opponents are aware that you might be 3-betting some weaker hands here and will adjust (or if they're loose enough not to respect a 3-bet to begin with), then I like the cold-call. (If you improve, you'll probably have either a fairly strong hand (TPGK) or a very strong hand, and you will stand a good chance of beating mulitple opponents, and if you don't improve, chances are you won't be able to beat UTG.)

I'd like to see you checkraise the turn - the calling on the flop makes your draw pretty obvious, so the queen appears to be a relatively safe card for TP, and he has to bet a ten to protect against the draw.

Yeah, I think people started to pick up on the fact that I was 3-betting somewhat lighter than normal against this guy and started tagging along. I loved trying to isolate with pairs/A-high/K-high, but in this particular position with a decent (but not great hand), I thought I'd just cold-call and try to build an okay pot. Like I said, I think I cold-called him twice outside of the blinds in a span of four hours.
