5 handed play, blinds 500/1000. I'm sitting two seats to the right of the button with about 17,2500. I call with 5-9 suited. Button calls, small bilnd folds, big blind raises it to 2000 total. I call, Small blind calls.

Flop:

Jc-10c-9s

Checks around.

Turn:

5d

This gives me two pair. All night I've been playing aggressivly. Small blind makes it 3,000, big blind folds. The preflop call and the check on the flop has me thinking something like a middle pocket pair or ace high, he really hasn't shown much, and his bet is probably an attempt to buy the pot. If he does have something, it's probably a jack. I reraise him to 6,000, he goes all-in. With my two pair, it's just a matter of calling.

He shows pocket 10's, and that's the hand, leaving me with 2,500.

So, bad play on my part, or good suck out on his part? I'll take full blame for not playing it in the best way preflop...

For next time this hand would go in the tournament forum. The shorthanded forum is for short handed limit holdem cash games.

Wow...I'm not sure where to start. Everything about this hand aside from the flop check is pretty awful.

1) Fold pre-flop. Fold pre-flop. Fold pre-flop. Or raise.
2) The turn is a fold or push. If you insist on making this dumb min-raise on the turn, fold to his push.
