Full Version: Nfl Football: Who Will Dominate In 06?

Well, Considering how random and non-poker related many of the topics in this forum tend to be, I figured a NFL Football Topic has to be semi legit. I'm assuming due to the common demographic of the online poker player that we have a lot of NFL fans who frequent the forum as well.

So, with the intent of stirring up debate (which is always entertaining to witness on here) who does anybody like to do well this year in the NFL?

My pick in the NFC are the Carolina Panthers barring some unforseen injuries they are the team to beat in the NFC south, with the addition of Keyshawn, and the return of Kris Jenkins on D, I expect Jake Delhomme and DeShaun Foster to put up big numbers.

The AFC appears pretty wide open with the Patriots now being over the hill, Colts losing Edgerrin James, and Bill Cowher on the vege of retirement. My dark horse pick to make it deep in the AFC is the Cleveland Browns, Kellen Winslow returns, Braylon Edwards has a break out year, and the Defense under Crennel and the leadership of Willie McGinest will be solid. If they can win the AFC I look for them to make a run.

Anyone else?

I would really like to see the patriots go down in flames even more than they did last year.

I would really like to see Indy finally show up in the playoffs.

And I would REALLY like to see my bengals win a playoff game.

That is all.

The Nuts
A mass terror attack, masterminded by San Francisco 49ers owner John York, results in the crashing of every team plane but the 49ers, thus making them the default Super Bowl Champions this season.

They would have won a playoff game if not for that dirty hit on Palmer.

Of course, I guess that was all part of the NFL's master plan to hand Pittsburgh and very undeserved Super Bowl win. Couldn't have the team they would later install as "champion" going out in the first round now could they?

The Nuts
Giants win it all. Eli has a breakout season, throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and over 30 TDs. Tiki leads NFL in all purpose rushing yards and their defense becomes a top 10 defense.

What exactly is all purpose rushing yards?

Minnesota Vikings

Rushing game will be dominant. They got Hutch in the offseason, Matt Birk comin back from injury, chester taylor will have a breakout year.

Defense will be much improved. The d-line will pressure the qb and smoot will return to form after last seasons debacle.

Brad Johnson will be the super bowl MVP. Troy williamson will have a breakout year and lead the team in receiving.

All I have to say is... I think you MAY be a glass half full kinda guy... good luck... and sorry about the season in advance. We know, the Viks are really awesome they just got unlucky. NFL rigged?

Don't count on my 49ers. Hopefully we will get another high pick. icon_frown.gif
