Villain is as weak tight as they get, but, he has a vendetta against me. In a previous hand, my set of turned quads against his flopped two pair and I laughed when he called me down with Q5 on a Q5663 board.

1/2 NL (100 min/max buyin)
Hero (200+..we have villain well covered)
Villain has (120ish)

Hero; 7 icon_suit_heart.gif 7 icon_suit_diamond.gif

Folds to Hero in CO, Hero raises to 9(this is our standard preflop raise--I even got everyone to agree to it, heh..), SB calls 9, BB folds.

Pot is 20 - rake
Flop is J icon_suit_heart.gif 7 icon_suit_diamond.gif 4 icon_suit_heart.gif

Villain checks, Hero bets 10, Villain calls.

Pot is 40 - rake
Turn is 9 icon_suit_heart.gif

Villain checks, Hero bets 20, Villain genuinely looks frustrated and calls.

Pot is 80 - rake
River is A icon_suit_heart.gif

Final Board; J icon_suit_heart.gif 74 icon_suit_heart.gif 9 icon_suit_heart.gif A icon_suit_heart.gif
Villain has 90ish behind.

Villain is now mumbling to himself and checks, Hero ..?

..I genuinely thought that my 7 might be good. My concern, was, though, that he'd make a 'frustrated call' with the 8 or 10 of hearts, just to 'show me how bad I had sucked out on him', type thing.

So, while I think my 7's not good, do I want to put in another 30-50 to have him push for his last 30-60 dollars? Can I call if he does push? Or is this a standard check?

Who are you???

Before I give my thoughts, I'd share this tidbit from a live game two weeks ago 1/2NL ON a board of icon_suit_heart.gif icon_suit_heart.gif icon_suit_club.gif icon_suit_heart.gif I bet w/ 33 icon_suit_heart.gif , player looks genuinely frustrated, but calls. river icon_suit_heart.gif He seems apparently really frustrated and checks, i "value" bet something like 10 into 60 pot and he calls to my suprised with a turned 3rd nut flush draw.

With a four flush on board, I can't think you get calls from many non-heart hands for any significant amount of money. So if you're going to value bet a worse hand, you'd hvae to bet 20 or less which is just eh... All I can really think you can do here is possibly clean up that 8 10 icon_suit_heart.gif . but if you think he's frustrated and may call, i'd be really worried to try to bluff out flush. I check this down most times.

Standard check...if he's bad enough to call you out with a counterfeited 2 pair, then he's bad enough to 1) act like he's weak when he's not or 2) call you out with the 2h.

I bet a bit more on the flop, 3/4

Many similar experiences, and yeah, I agree. I see a lot of people make frustrated calls with the Qh here, really.

I think I can probably fold a J high flush, by pushing here. But, I don't think it's worth the effort, with position..otherwise, I agree.

Seems a standard check is in order.

Check applies.

You only get called by hands that can beat you.

Yes..........I'm captain obvious!
