Do I call?

Here's what I was thinking: I have at least 12 good outs, that makes me about 25% to hit. Hence I need roughly 4:1 to make the call. The pot was giving me about 3:1 (11.6/3.5).

Do I have the implied odds to make this call? One quarter of the time I will hopefully double up.

I would definately make this call if I had a comparable stack size to the villians, but I was short stacked.

In the hand, I went over the numbers in my head, then made the call. The more I think about it, the more it seems like the call is correct. Just checking if this is the correct way to think about these situations.

With like 3 million outs, I wouldn't mind just getting all your money in.

I wouldn't fault a turn push, if you feel like being really aggro, but this call is insanely easy.

Also, NL hands, full or SH, go in the NL forum, ty.

Whoops, just posted another SH NL in this forum. I'll make sure the next ones go in the proper forum.

A few problems here. Most important, if you are 25% to hit, you only need 3:1 to make the call, not 4:1, so you dont have to worry about implied odds.

Second you are getting 3.33:1, that is a fairly substantial difference when making a call/fold decision.

Third, you might have a shade under 12 clean outs...a non spade 10 may only split the pot, he certainly seems to be betting like he made a straight. If you discount the nonspade 10s to 1.5 outs, you are at 21%, which requires 3.76:1 odds and youre short again, and having to look at implied odds.

The problem is if you hit the flush draw you cant count on doubling up, even against a straight. Depending on how deeply you discount the possiblity of doubling up is going to determine whether you have enough implied odds. If you only double up 1/4 of the time that you hit, you wind up at a bit better than 4:1 odds, and your ok.

So, you wound up in the right place, the path was a bit crooked.

Ace high straights generally beat King high straights.
