I'm heading to Chicago on business and wanted to see if I could find a nice tourney to play while I am there (the bigger the better). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tourney wise i dont think there is much. Hollywood Casino in Aurora (about 35 40 minutes outside the loop) runs a NL hold em tourney on weds starting at one. I think the buy in is like 160 with a cap at 80 players. You usually have to get there for a wrist band lotto between 10 and 12 if im not mistaken. they also spread 5 10, 10 20, and 20 40 limit games with a 1/2 kill. Tables fill up fast though and the waiting list tends to be long.
Also resorts in East Chicago, Indiana (about 30 minutes outside the loop) has a very nice poker room with a lot more games (stud, 2 5 NL holdem, and PL Omaha). They used to run a NL holdem tourney on thursdays for 220 buy in not sure if they still do though.
If you dont mind limit Hollywood is a good place to play games are usaully pretty soft. Resorts tends to have the better players as there poker room is much bigger.

Not a horrible place, but when I played there I think the drop was like $6. Kind of unreasonable if you ask me.

When did Harrah's in Joliet close it's poker room? I was up in Chicago this past weekend and I was told it was closed. I have always found it weird that I can find a game at almost anytime in St. Louis, but there is little to offer in Chicago.
