Preflop looks fine
On the flop, I would reraise to 6k or 7K to induce a call. Board is not coordinated so I don't want to scare villain out.
I would then push on the turn.

$3 on Stars..standard preflop, maybe you can milk more with medium sized bet than a push.
ME...check and fold to his push with KK

That preflop re-raise stinks a lot like aces or kings to me. i can't really explain it but there are certain bets that just stick out and that is one that would worry me for some reason.
. it happened to me today in the oil i got QQ and got re-raised some little janky amount that just said kings and wanted to muck but one fourth of my chips were in the pot and i hadn't see a hand in 5 orbits and had a lowish M so i made a crying push praying i was wrong and he had might have AK. He had the kings.
the fact its a 3 dollar rebuy might get me to ignore my read however since people do some really insane stuff when its that low a stakes.

This is pretty standard. The only thing I might do differently is make a less than all in raise on the flop. These $3 donks are probably gonna pay you off w/ JJ-QQ for a smaller raise, but might be scared away by the push. Moreover, if they call a smaller raise on the flop, they might feel committed to call for the rest of their chips on the turn. The small re-raise preflop does look like AA or KK but I've seen people do it with a lot less and without any great read, and considering it's a $3 buy-in, I'm going with my TPTK.

Thanks for the responses all. Those who said that the small re-raise stank of aces or kings, well I felt the same way, which is why I posted this hand. I almost folded preflop. But then when I hit TPTK I figured I'd just go for it. Obviously I should have check-raised less, but I was afraid he had aces or kings and so I just made a stupid play. Basically I didn't want to second-guess myself...if I check-raised to say 7500 and he pushes then I'd be making a crying call, looking for a split.
Basically, I played it badly.

No you didn't. The call wouldn't be crying its fine. There is a general rule I follow, if you have AK it's impossible for villain to have AA or KK, especially if you hit the flop. Poker isn't that cruel.

Eh, I like the flop. You can rule out the possibilty of a set. I like ur check, but I like a call better than the push. If you're content taking the pot there, that's fine, but Aces are breaking your heart here. You're most likely way ahead on this flop, or way behind. He could have a hand like JJ/QQ, in which case I like a call on the flop. Unless he played a hand like KQs, what can he possibly have here? I see a CB with any hand JJ-AA, so it's 50/50 you're taking the pot right here, or going busto.
