ok - after a little work - this is the seedings for both divisions. If anyone finds this incorrect - please let me know (I havent had much sleep - lol)
Hearts Spades
1) 5150's
2) CHEAP THIEVES
3) HC DUKES
4) THE CZARS
5) TEAM ARENAS
6) BAYSIDE
Spades
1) DEMENTED AVENGERS
2) TEAM CANADA
3) LOOSHLE'S LOSERS
4) ZIMMER
5) KINGS IN THE HOLE
6) OH YOU CALL, I CALL? or YANGSTERS
Playoff games will be played Satuday Aug 5.
Round 1 games (all games) will be played Sunday Aug 6.
Please arrange a time with your opponent for that day. (I was going to put a time on it but it seems there is a lot of re-scheduling lately.)
1st round games are best of 5 with the higher seed starting 1-0. All games must be played sunday. Teams can use any player on their team for any game of the series.
Please post final results (for the series) with a recap. Results for each individual game are not necessary. I will add a thread under the post game.
Best overall record will be split amounst Looshle's losers, Demented Avengers, Team Canada, kings in the hole and 5150's
OK - that should be it...............any questions, issues, problems?

In the Spades Conference, Looshle's Losers gets the 3 seed because of Conference record. It looks like Demented Avengers has a 5-1 record against Common Opponents with Team Canada, whereas Canada has a 4-2 record. Only Problem I see.

3. Degenerates lose
Czars win the division, leaving Bayside, Arenas, and Crunch Bunch at 8-7. For the first tiebreaker, eliminate Crunch Bunch for not being the best ranked-team in their division. Arenas won H2H over Bayside, so they get the 5 seed. Then, between Bayside and Crunch Bunch, Bayside gets the 6 seed due to H2H.
This makes the playoffs as such:
1. 5150's
2. Cheap Thieves
3. HC Dukes
4. The Czars
5. Team Arenas
6. Bayside
That's what I have for hearts, I can explain how I got it if you need me to so we can get this cleared up.

Sigh...
Good Luck to all teams that made the playoffs. I still think we are better served by not using tiebreakers to ELIMINATE teams from playoff, but the system is in place and we have to stick to it. It just sucks that there are 6 teams...yes 6...at 8-7 in the Hearts...5 of them made the playoffs...only one doesn't have a chance to win the title...at the end of the day...is that fair?
Besides...who wanted to play the team that hasn't lost in well over a month!!!
Kudos to Sleuth for running such a GREAT league!!! THANKS!!!

It goes:
Head to Head
Conference Record
Common Opponents
1-game playoff

It has been discussed, ad nauseum, across several threads.
Go peek at the NFL tiebreakers-we attempted to mirror them. If one team is 10-5 and they went 6-0 in a division where second place was a 4-11 team, and another team is 10-5 and they went 5-1 in a division where second place was a 9-6 team, it isn't fair to award the first team for beating up on crappy teams in their own division.

Ahh, i found the policy Darrell used in a thread about 4 pages back.(is that what ad nauseum means? my Latin is very rusty) I'm not a big fan of adding and/or changing rules midseason but what can you do i guess? I'm an indian not a chief. Not a big deal for me anyways, it's only the difference between survivng an extra round of playoffs then should I do so playing Daniel and the Cheap Thieves down 1-0 instead of up 1-0.

It really wasn't a change. We had tiebreakers defined for ties among the same teams within a division. We had no tiebreakers defined for ties among teams in different divisions. We took the NFL tiebreakers and applied them here.

it why i wrote adding and/or changing. the rules on the site do give rules for tiebreakers, but it does say for two teams, not multiples. it doesn't say anything about whether those two teams are in the same division or not, just says two. i don't even disagree with the process used, just think it shoud've been in the rules before the season, not put together 4 weeks ago.
I promise this next question isn't being a smartass, I just don't know if i missed stuff. People keep saying we throughout this thread in referencing this rule. Was it voted on somewhere? Or did Darrell just think it made sense to add it? Who's we?

We is I brought it up to Darrell quite a while ago, we discussed it via PMs, he made a thread about it to toss around potential ideas, pretty much everyone agreed that using the existing tiebreakers for teams that weren't in the same division and/or multiple teams was retarded, and we implemented a system that mimic'ed the NFL system, and noone had a single problem.

it was added about week 10 once it was realized we had no concrete tiebreaker for multiple teams.
my bad tho, I assumed everyone reads thru this and should have updated the rules page. For the time being I am leaving the rules page as is, there may be small changes for the next season and I would like to adjust them all at once.

By the looks of it, teams are reseeded and rematched after each round.
