why did you check the turn.....that doesnt make much sense to me

Bet the flop, bet the turn.

Check the river because it is a 3rd club.

the girl was a calling station for an hour, so much that she'd routinely call Ace-rag with a ace hight flop. on the other hand, check raised her on the turn when i had the nuts, so she was probably scared to bet into it without an ace. i was worried about betting into her until she checked.

i was thinking about that. i thought that if i check the river, i wouldn't be able to call a big raise (anything over $5, and anything less than that i'd have to see). so i was pretty sure she'd just call with anything less than the nut flush.

silly, but when i play against a calling station, i start thinking like one.

The point is, if you made a decent sized bet on the flop, and didn't get raised, she probably doesn't have an ace.

Calling stations will usually play any ace strongly.
It's the one hand where they usually stop calling.

Betting the turn means you should be able to check on the river. You could make a smallish bet on the river, but it's probably not good.
