reads:

co: not good, loves to open limp and pretty poor post flop
sb: took half my stack when he called a big raise on the flop and hit his 2 outer on the turn
bb: uneventful player...

preflop
Hero on button: q icon_suit_spade.gif 9 icon_suit_diamond.gif

Action: 2 folds, co calls, hero raises to 24, blinds call

Pot: 78

flop: j icon_suit_spade.gif 2 icon_suit_club.gif 8 icon_suit_club.gif

Action: 2 checks, hero bets 50, both call

Pot: 228

turn: 10 icon_suit_spade.gif

Action: 2 checks, hero checks????? (will explain)

river: k icon_suit_spade.gif

Action: 2 checks, hero bets 150

Now at the time my reasoning was to check to attempt to induce a bet on the river. My hand was pretty well disguised so I planned to let them bluff at me.

I think i should have bet the turn probably but i checked hopin to induce a bluff

So...you're embarrassed b/c someone made a backdoor flush on you?

Your line is fine..you already justified it to yourself before you posted it. If you bet, that's fine too.

i just wanted to see about this line...its not one i use often...

come on now u know ive been here long enough to not post bad beats

well i hate this hand. we raised with crap, bet the flop with crap, made the 2nd nuts on the turn in a $228 pot and we check?!?!?!?!? don't see what this accomplishes

i'd basically guarantee someone is on clubs and we wanna let both players get a free card. Man ur hand is so disguised I think a bet shows way way way less strength than a check here.

I would like to know stack sizes cause almost think the best play on the turn is a push. No one on the face of the earth can but u on the 2nd nuts here.

edit: we have the nuts here

Technically, we've got the 1st nuts. I'm with ya though...I think we've got to bet the turn.

checking this turn is horrible. you have two callers here, one likely on a draw and one likely to have atleast top pair here and you checked this turn knowing that you may have gotten both to call which is more value than a river bluff. I don't like the line at all. I like PF tho.

Edit: Who's hand is this?

I think everybody's hit it. Betting this turn now, given the likely hand ranges of your opponents, gives us more value than allowing them to bluff the river. There are also a ton of cards that will kill your action, and against standard villains its almost always asking too much for them to bluff the river in this biggish pot.
Lavitz
Make them pay for their hands on this very coordinated and draw heavy board. Half pot and maybe one will come over top with draw or whatever they have sensing weakness. Since one of villians you are in against has already called when way behind in a previous hand, he will probably do the same, especially when you go from 2/3 pot bet to half.

Give off an aroma of weakness and youll get a call from SB and who knows what from BB. Then again, if you bet half BB will have odds for flush draw, no?
So maybe bet a tad more.
