I think a flop rasie might work better, because a call announces you ahve a strong hand anyway, and yo9u might get a lot of action from another Ax hand.

As for the hand on the river, against an unknown who didn't 3bet the turn, my curiousity would get the best of me and I'd make that crying call. Probably a K, could be an overpair to 88, but not likely.
Come to think of it, could be an A with a weak kicker.
