I don't understand why we call the flop then don't bet the turn.

I don't understand why we don't raise this flop if we are going to check the turn.

I see his vpip is low. Quite low. Still, not raising the flop, or betting the turn, is turning you into a passive player.

Be aggressive, stay aggressive. Don't just go into call down mode, unless you really really have a great reason to.

In other words, fold the flop if you are going to play the rest of the hand this way, cause you aren't getting the odds to chase your 2 outer.

I like reraising the pf. IF I don't, I raise the flop. If I don't I raise the turn. If I don't, I call the river.smile.gif

How often do you all think I'm ahead? Villain's stats + reraise says to me that he could very well have a few hands here that beat mine. While I do agree that I should bet probably around 1/2 pot on the turn to charge AK, I don't see much reason to raise this flop. It allows the villain to play perfectly against us as he will respond by folding all worse hands and calling/raising with better ones.

You could push him off the hand.

And if you think the above, why even waste money calling the river?

Since you didn't raise the flop, you need to bet the turn.

I understand he is tight, but you can get tight players to fold sometimes...I dunno. I'll never advocate play like this, so whatever...I do see he is tight, and why I'm not 100% against how you played it, but you can pressure more if you think you're behind to try and get a fold.

not go into check/down mode and call down mode with an overpair.

True, but the information you gain from a raise in NL is much more valuable than in limit. So if he has AA/KK/set, you can get away from your hand much easier.
