why would you raise preflop with 55 in the lower limits? you want to get in cheap and see if you flop a set and if not get out of there. you also dont want to narrow the fields down when you have a small pair, you want as many people in there so when you do flop a set someone else also has a piece of it.
on the river i would check call. the reason is the heart draw missed, so i would give the guy a chance to bluff at it if he was on a heart draw and if he did have a queen then he wouldnt get as much money on the hand.
Because we only have the cutoff, button and the blinds behind us. It is unlikely we are going to alot of players seeing the flop. I dont like open limping in the hijack ever really. A raise is good for a number of reasons. They include raising for value, stealing the button, and taking down the blinds.
