Not that it mattered, but I may have raised 3rd, but that's probably wrong.

I think it's played fine after that tho. On 5th, it looks like he has a made low and is just trying to make you fold a hi.
Marchione
only in multi way pot do you raise on 3rd with a rolled up hand ~
try to trap
scottyno
you played it exactly the same way I would have, since you're second in you limp to try and get other people to call, you bet to make him pay to draw to his hand, and you call down when its almost certain that at best you're only winning half the pot, and you just got unlucky that he made the boat and you didnt. Had you filled up or made quads I probably would have raised in case he had trips or 2 pair or a missed low.

btw, where did you possibly get that it was a 288-1 suckout, at the start of the hand you only have an EV of 70% of the pot, with him making the low over half the time to split, and him making a better high hand than you about 7% of the time, and you scooping the rest of the time, 288-1 makes no sense.

the odds of him boating me are 282-1
or a 2% chance he would hit a boat.
i am currently working on a website with a forum that is just for stud, hi lo and razz.
i doubt it will have a large following however there will tools just for stud players there

282-1 is 2%????

also, you cant calculate odds like that, you have to calculate odds based on all the possible winning hands he could have made, since you didnt boat he also could have beat you with a straight or flush (though very unlikely since he started rainbow), heads up in stud 8 you werent that much of a favorite overall since he would split so many times and could scoop you as well. He had a much better chance of winning the hand than you seem to realize.
Marchione
2% chance he would scoop
282-1 he would boat to beat me !!!

these odd's are Calculated thru a special spread sheet i build on excel
should have explained it better.

your spreadsheet is wrong then, he's actually 5.5% to scoop you, and his odds of boating are pretty irrelevant, since if you boat you're going to beat him anyway unless he makes quads and if you dont boat he can beat you with a straight anyway

I think you played it ok, you could have checked 5th since we know hes on the low draw at this point, but betting is probably right since unless he caught perfect perfect you're high hand is still ahead, after he raises you have to just call down (you cant possibly put him on 2 pair in this spot, you have to put him on a made low with probably a gut shot draw to scoop.

I don't think you played it bad, you have to slow down a little with his board since he could already have half the pot locked up and be drawing for the scoop. Just bad luck mainly. Getting crazy aggressive with only trips against a guy showing 236 would be worse IMO.
