Hi there.. I'm going to be staying in downtown San Fran. What's the best room around there? Do I have to make the trek to San Jose?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I was just coming over to start this exact thread, what a coincidence.
I am going to be in Alameda for two weeks and am planning on playing at the Bay 101. Anyone have any info on the place? Are there other rooms in the area?

Edit:
Just did a little research, there is Lucky Chances, with 20 tables, and Artichoke Joe's, with 17 tables, both in the city, Oaks Card Club, with 20 tables, just outside the city and Bay 101 about 45 mins away with 20 tables. I'll probably give a look to them all and decide on the best one. There are also a few other, smaller, places nearby.

Chances and Joe's are south of the city proper FYI.

Not far at all, few minutes on the freeway.

HI All,

I've played at Bay101 and at Artichoke Joes. Both decent places tho Joes is much smaller.

One problem - they only had limit games and I play mainly NL. Anyone know of a NL game in the Bay Area. I'm going to be there the week of Sept. 5 and was planning on putting in a session on the evening of the 8th.

Does anybody from the Bay know what casino is right off the freeway past Berkeley, I remember a while ago I remember driving past it and it was pretty big. Tried to search on the net for it but couldn't find it.

Anyways Im a Bay 101 guy, and I'm pretty sure they have NL. Ill check to make sure next time I go, but they should have it. Remember they have two boards to sign up at... one with all the 3/6 6/12 limits etc... and then they have the higher stakes games at the far side of the poker room.

(Edit) Your right I was just there and they don't have any NL. They have limit from 2/4 to 50/100, but they do have a 5/200 spread game which is similar to NL.
