This season could be interesting. I mean, there's no Santino, but it still could be good

Is this about models? If so, I dispute the "not gay" part of your statement.

No, it's not about models, it's about fashion designers. Seriously, watch the show, it's entertaining.

I love Project Runway. This season does look good. But I have to say, I am surprised to find this thread, especially since it was not created by me. smile.gif

Fashion designers??? Your Honor, the prosecution rests.

Or me.

I'm saddened though. I thought I had a monopoly on GPOTY candidates. Not anymore...

thank you?

It's far and away my favorite reality show. I can't seem to place why. unsure.gif

Project Runway is kinda gay, but I know tons of straight guys who watch it. (Tons = 5 or 6) But yeah, definitely the highest quality reality show.

Anyway, I'm nervous for Bradley on tomorrow's episode. The previews are hinting that he might be eliminated on his birthday, and he seems to be one of the most normal people there. Honestly, they need to get rid of that worthless Angela.

Angela eliminated last night....FINALLY!

Seriously, she sucked. That makes my day.

Jeffrey deserved a challenge to go his way as well.

Prediction for final 3: Jeffrey, Michael, Uli
Petoria
well, another good episode.

Kayne needs to stop being so pageanty. He could make the final 3 if he stops doing that. If he does make the final 3, and he comes out there at fashion week with 10 pageant dresses, he has no shot. It will be sad to watch if that happens to tell you the truth. In that respect, I really hope he doesnt make it. Because I know he's going pageant dress show.

Laura is simply not a talented designer. Everything is just the same. Nothing new, nothing particularly creative. Just enough to get by. All of it looks like it could be worn to a risque 1920's party.

Jeffrey, far and away the most talented in the group. He'll have to screw up to not win, in my opinion. Not much more to say really.

Michael, dude has his own style, it's new, it's pop. If he doesnt have to make anymore big high class dresses where he doesnt really get to put his mark on it, there's a decent chance he'll win.

Uli, going by unnoticed in a way. She's like Chloe from last season, except a billion times more talented. (still pissed that Chloe beat Daniel V. at the end, can you tell?)

Vincent, out last night, and it was coming for a long time. I wanted Laura out first, but they'll both be home soon.

i really don't want Uli in the final 3. i'd rather see Laura for the reason that she has no chnace of winning with her boring style and it will come down to Michael and Jeffrey for the title. i think they are both equally talented and deserve recognition. i'd hate to see Uli make it to fashion week and then some how pull a "chloe" and win. she is talented but she doesn't deserve to win.

That's a good point, but Laura is so bitchy. I dont think i can stand anymore episodes of her arrogant, elitist personality.

I guess if we wanted a good laugh, we could root for Kayne to make fashion week.

Well, last night's episode was pretty gay, even for Project: Runway's standards.

Bringing back Vincent and Angela just seemed so gimmicky. Looking at another one of Angela's dresses was just so depressing.

Vincent caught a really bad break with his model not showing up, but the dress wasnt a winner anyway.

Jeffrey's dress made his model look like a prostitute, not even an expensive prostitute either. Just a regular prostitute on Sunset Strip, so in that way, I guess it was very L.A. I'm really hoping he makes something just beautiful in the next challenge.

Michael deserved to win, he made it perfectly, I'm starting to feel that he might be the frontrunner after last night. I thought he was going to fall apart early on, but he's just gone on a run in these last 5 challenges. 2 wins and two 2nd place finishes. The couture challenge wasn't his style anyway.

Laura.......sigh.......I guess she wins, but Michael's dress was so much more fashion forward, which seems like the theme this season. If she makes another dress that belongs in the 1920's modernize a different era Laura or create something of your own. Honestly, just toss her, she doesnt deserve fashion week.

Uli....Uli, Uli, Uli....it's the same goddamn dress she makes everytime. I mean, it's a beautiful dress, but seriously, make something a little toned down and I'd guarantee she would have won the challenge last night. I don't doubt her talent, but if she did something with colors that aren't so flamboyant, I think she might be taken more seriously.

Kayne, well it was either him or Laura going home. In reality, Kayne's dress was better than Jeffrey's, but Jeffrey has so much more potential that I don't blame the judges for choosing to boot Kayne. Kayne has a real future in pageant dresses though, so he really doesnt need Project: Runway as much as the others.

Well, that's my recap of last night's action. Anybody else have comments? This thread has a little too much Petoria in it, even for my liking.

I actually liked Laura's dress last night more than Michael's. His was a little too early 80's for me. But in the long run I want Michael to win. He is by far the best.

Ok, Laura was better last night than she was the week before, but the fact that she shouldve been gone before, is kind of disappointing. It might have made me look down on her dress from last night. The fact is that it was just a slightly more modern version of what she does everytime anyway. Michael was maybe a little 80's, but it's like the 80's for the 00's. (What are they calling the 00's? zeroes?

As long as Jeffrey doesnt make his models look like prostitutes he has just as good of a shot as Michael. Michael continues to impress me more and more, when before I thought Jeffrey would runaway with it.

It's going to be a fun fashion week. Either Laura or Uli are going to look stupid. I'm so excited, because Top Chef 2 starts immediately after that finale. Bravo owns my Wednesday nights for another 3 months I guess.

Pretty much everything you just said I couldnt agree with more.

I dont think that Laura is going to make it to the fashion week due to her pregnancy. As bad as it is to say I really think that will keep her from fashion week more than anything 1920s she makes. Her dress last night was a 1920s dress all the same, just missing the hat and gloves.

IMO its going to be Michael to win regardless of FW presentation. I thought Santino had by far the best collection last year and you see where that got him and me. Chloe with those cinderella sleeves? And i think we already had our JAY to win so thats why I think jeff has no shot. How could you ever get that tatoo I never look at his face, only DETROIT

And to reitterate, bringing Vincent and Angela back was absolutely BUSCH league anyway. I hated the idea, it almost looked like they knew they werent going to make it, and it showed. The only thing good from it was jeffreys reactions.
finztotheleft
I didn't like the return of Angela and Vincent either.

I hear what everyone is saying about Laura's unchanging style. I can't bash it too much though, because she is the only one making dresses that I would actually wear (well, if I had the body for them). I love that classic style. Laura's bitchiness is wearing thin. Hormones ? Probably just her personality.

Uli makes very pretty dresses, but does need to change it up a bit.

Jeffrey has talent. He's the new Santino apparently.......do they actually cast it that way on purpose ? I just really hate his attitude. Angela's mom was a bit of a flake, but he was beyond rude to her.

I love Michael. Hoping he wins in the end. He shows that it is possible to be very creative and talented and yet, show some class. I give Michael (and Uli) a lot of credit for rising above the nastiness there.

I thinks it's interesting this season you can really tell who's work is who's. If they sent the models down the runway without us having seen the designers work backstage, you could still pick out the Uli dress, the rock star Jeffrey creation, the classic Laura, and the one who listened to the directions....Michael.

As much as I love Runway, I also cannot wait for Top Chef season 2 to start !

I can't wait for Top Chef 2 to start. I never watched Bravo before these two shows began airing and now it's one of my favorite channels.

Same here. I don't think I had ever watched before on a regular basis.

I really just hope there's another Stephen on TC2. That conceited prick made the show great.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The final four aspiring designers of television's "Project Runway" unveiled their collections on Friday for New York's Fashion Week, each hoping their style would earn them the winning role on the hit show.

The winner of the reality show, now in its third season on Bravo, gets $100,000 to start a clothing line, a spread in Elle magazine, bragging rights and enviable media attention.

After a season of competing in tasks from making a couture gown to an outfit from recycled materials, all under tense deadlines, the last four contestants each showed a dozen looks before a standing-room crowd of industry insiders, cheering fans and judges who included designer Michael Kors.

The winner will be announced during the season finale on October 11.

First up was Jeffrey Sebelia, an outspoken, tattooed Los Angeles designer who left behind the rock-and-roll aesthetic that marked his work during the season and surprised onlookers with gentle, youthful and casually sophisticated designs.

Making heavy use of soft reds and golds, broad stripes and even polka dots, his lightweight skirts and party dresses seemed geared toward a California beach culture, with nary a whit of his signature black.

Miami Beach's Uli Herzner kept to looks more emblematic of her designs during the show's run, heavy on prints and shimmering, soft fabrics in gold or silver.

She produced beach sets of two-piece suits with matching cover-ups in yellow-and-brown or purple-and-gold animal-inspired stripes and softly glittering silver tops with leather skirts. A full-length tie-dyed dress in bright blue evoked her South Florida aesthetic.

Laura Bennett, a Manhattan-based architect and mother of five who learned during the show's filming that she was expecting a sixth child, showed high-waisted outfits in black or soft gold.

She used beading, fringe and shiny feathers to jazz up and stamp a look of elegance on her designs. Her dominant fabric was black lace, used extensively in tops and dresses, one of which she paired with a fake-fur shrug.

The audience favorite clearly was Michael Knight, who throughout the season showed judges thoughtfully tailored designs, but took chances in this collection.

Starting with an ivory and gold palette, the Atlanta-based designer showed lace-up tops and smock jackets, used strong colors such as deep fuchsia and metallic orange and went for the bold with a futuristic swimsuit that appeared to be made of shimmering liquid gold.

Looks like Jeffrey pulls a "Santino." As expected, Uli and Laura did their same old, some old. But it sounds as if Michael took some interesting chances. I look forward to seeing the finale.

NO SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit "Spoilers" in big letters at the top of your post please.

I was at a friends house for the week, and I dont think i could handle the ridicule of being pegged a "Project: Runway" fan. Anway........

Uli: When I first saw the dress on the runway, I thought, this is exactly the same as every other dress. Then you look at it, and you realize that it's the best dress she's made. It's unique, personally, I love it.

Michael: I thought Michael Kors hit the nail on the head with the "Evening gowns are not what he's best at" comment. In fact, I think I said the same thing in a previous post. A little Colbertesque "I called it" is in order I believe. The dress was a bit skimpy, but it wasnt a bad dress.

Laura: Hate her, hate her dresses, hate her personality, hate hate hate. Get ready for some hilarity to ensue at fashion week.

Jeffrey: That dress was NOT well made. If done perfectly, it may have been a winner, but it just looked like he didnt put in the effort. I'm really psyched he's in fashion week, knowing that Michael doesn't understand what he's best at, Jeffrey has a really good shot.

Predictions for fashion week:

Uli will make her crazy patterned dresses, and take a new take on what she can do with that type of fabric.

Laura will make 10 dresses that belong in the 1920's. The other two.........I have no f*cking clue. She's a one-trick pony.

Michael will not make the type of clothing that he's best at. He's going to make too many dresses even though he's not very good at them. The line be pretty, but not fashion forward.

Jeffrey will rock the stage. I can see him doing something completely him and having it look better than everyone else's.

P.S. Kind of surprised Jeffrey is straight. I mean, they set us up with Jeffrey running around in Uli's gown, then they show us his girlfriend and kid. Bravo job Project: Runway.
Petoria
Jeez, how do i end up with 3 responses in a row in this thread?

Anyway....SPOILER ALERT

JEFFREY WON JEFFREY WON JEFFREY WON WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!.

Uli was a close 2nd just bc she designed beautiful things, but Jeffrey was far and away the most innovative designer in the competition from day 1 all the way through the end.

Michael's collection was not cohesive. Laura came in with same old same old.

I'm happy now, that made my day.
runthemover
It seemed to me that Michael was the best when they gave strict guidelines. but totally unsure what to do when given an open-ended task

Jeffery was the most creative and deserving to win.

Laura was just 'boring' and not 'fashion forward' . wait. omfg I can't believe I just typed that. her stuff was good. elegant just not a winner.

Uli could have won but I guess her colours and prints were not favoured by the judges. (at the same time they said her stuff would all sell and heidi would wear all of her clothes so basically they are saying we really like what you did a whole lot but you're not interesting enough to win)
