Money is due by the end of August
If you do not pay by then, your seat will be forfeited.

To pay, first, you must put the buyin amount ($50 or $250) into your cashiers account, then email bob at pokermanager@fullcontactpoker.com with your forum and poker room name, and buyin, from the email address listed under your poker account. he will then extract the money from your account, let me know, and you will be in. Please note he has a player list, so no trying to sneak in!

Format: Based off of Poker Superstars 2/3
24 players, each playing 5, 6 player prelim matches, with points given for finishing position.
The top 16 advance into 4 seeded groups of 4, who will play 2 matches each, top 2 finishers in each group advance.
Those 8 will be split into 2 groups of 4 and will play one match each, top 2 advancing to the semis.
Semis are a best 2 of 3 heads up match, with the winners advancing to the best 3 of 5 finals.

Schedule: 90% sure Prelim matches will take place on weeknights (excluding wednesday) between 9-10 EST starting after labor day. Saturday is also possible but not preferred.
Players will play once a week during prelims, each playing 5 matches, playing everyone else at least once hopefully. Round of 20 will take place in week 6 and 7, same schedule, once again each player playing once a week.
Week 8 will close out with the 2 quarterfinal matches, the two semifinal best of 3 series, and closing with the best of 5 finale. As this schedule is so spread out, the low and high buyin events will more than likely be run simultaniously.

RULES:
Table Setup:
Game - No Limit Hold'em
Buy in - $5+.50
Blind Structure - Slow (15 minute levels)
Starting Chip Stack - 1,500

Tournament Structure:
This is a multi-round tournament with 32 entrants

6th-2 pts
7th-1 pt

The top 20 will advance to the next round.

Round of 20 - Players will be grouped together based on place in the preliminary stage.
Each group will play one five handed match, the winner advances to the quarterfinals.
Then the group will play one four handed match, the winner of that also advances to the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals - Players will be grouped together based on place in the round of 20.
Each group will play one match, with the top 2 in each group moving onto the semifinals.

Each pair will play a best of three heads-up series with the winner advancing to the finals.

Semifinal win: $400 (2 winners)
Final loss: $800 (one winner)
Final win: $2000 (one winner)

General Tournament Rules:
Groupings - Preliminary groupings will be randomly assigned using a specialized program written in Java which I will make available for download.

Tiebreakers - At the table - In the event two players are knocked out in the same hand, the player entering the hand with more chips will place higher. In the event the players have the same amount of chips when eliminated, the players will take the average of the points awarded. For example, with four players left, two players with the same amount of chips are knocked out, the players will each be awarded 3rd place for 4 points (3rd + 4th, divided by 2).

In the preliminary - In the event two or more players have the same amount of points, the tiebreakers will be as follows
1. Wins
2. 2nd place finishes
3. 3rd place finishes
4. 4th place finishes
5. Head to head place (place in groups where matches were played together)
In the event the players are still tied after these tiebreakers, and the 20th and 21th position are involved in a tie, a tiebreaking match will take place. If 20th and 21th place are not involved, a tiebreaking match is optional, and may be played by the tied players if they wish.

In the Quarterfinal - In the event two or more players have the same amount of points, the tiebreakers will be the same as the preliminary tiebreakers.

Substitutions:
One substitution will be allowed during the preliminary stage. I must be notified by email or PM at least one hour before the match or your substitute will not be allowed to compete.

Consolation Tournament:
The 12 people eliminated in the round of 20 of the high buy in will be invited to play in a $350 added tournament. This tournament will follow standard rules. Buyin and payout are still yet to be decided.

Below are the list of players I have recieved posts, pms, or emails from. Currently, the High buy in and Low buy in alternates lists are open.

Freddec
hey this sounds pretty cool.........definitely need to use a better blind structure so it isn't an all in fest......sounds fun to me though
Jdr999
I will do this if buy-in is less than $100.

Basically everything except the general stuff in the OP is up in the air, but I would plan on this using a much better blind structure than presented in the actual show.

I think blind structure is key. but also a reason why their blinds are so high because you have to devote enough time for 24 different people to wind up playing 5 , 6 man sit n gos... coordinating that sounds tough. sounds like a fun idea though, count me in if you got room.

im in if its free, or if i can get a backer. (hint hint)

I would like to, but with College/FCPHUL Season 2 I just probably wouldn't have enough time. It sounds like a real fun event, and if the Commish is anything like Sleuthis, it should run great. GL everyone in it.
freak2304
i'm in it to win it.

I'd give it a shot, i think buyin should be min $200. Make it so that it's worth it to win your match not just for pride but for money too.
XX44466XX
I would like to participate.

im in depending on buyin
caviness36
I'm interested in playing. I think you have to have a cash buyin. Without it, there would be no guarantee people would show up for matches, etc. People are more inclined to give it their all if they are putting their own money up.
Scott3705
I'll do it, but only if we having starting stacks of 10 BB's each.
Mercury69
I think it's a great idea, if documented correctly. I'd like to participate, but my BR, such as it is, can manage only lower stakes, such as 5 or 10 per match. If that fits into the plan, then I'm definitely in.

E-mail sent.

I agree with this. Either way I don't want to do it unless buy-in is at least $50. Otherwise it's just not worth the time IMO. That said, as I said before, I'm in if we have that buy-in, and I'm feelin' frisky after taking 3rd in a UB $100 buy-in MTT last night.

I know the season ends soon, but I'm likely going to be in season 2.

I guess I'll sign up for this, then I can see how it works with my schedule.

I will also be in season 2...but that starts up NEXT YEAR...

Let me mention the mobney...

Does a $250 buyin sound about right? (If it's a turbo structure)

If we do a slow structured one...I say $500...
Footballguru
im in if buyin is between 10 and 100...
eYank
ill do it if its a low buy in
Mercury69
Well, I'm seeing quite a skew here. Some won't play because the buy-in might be too high and some won't play if the buy-in isn't high enough tomake it worth their time.

Dare I suggest the possibility of 2 tiers, one low buy-in (5 or 10) and one high buy-in (50 or 100)?
doublemeup
I'm in as long as we keep the buy in small.
Oziumrules
Count me in also....
astros11ss
i'm interested, but prolly wouldn't do it for anything less than 100... i haven't read the entire thread but someone suggested $250 which sounds about right to me
Kei
I'm thinking it could work as a low buyin/freeroll if you could get FCP to sponsor it with prizes in some way. Also, a one-time entry fee would be interesting if that could work out somehow, or a fee per level. There's a lot of different ways on how to work the payment structure.

It is nice to see all the interest though.
DonkSlayer
This is kinda a pride thing though, isn't it? Why does it have to be a "big" buyin?
Mercury69
A one time entry fee might work. Entrants could be assigned a ticket and the tourney could be listed under Restricted. Points could be administered similarly to the Neg-O. Thoughts?

you read my mind, I would not mind at all running 2 of these, one high buyin, one low buyin.

I am leaning towards one time entry fee, then payout similar in structure to the show, both of these to keep people from skipping out on late matches when they are already eliminated.

I also made a short test video so you all can see what recorded matches would look like.... the video can be found right here this is without sound... I was going to commentate on it.. but nobody wants to hear that... there will be poker room sounds on actual recordings tho. Also on the final recordings the expanded chat window probably wont be there.

the video isnt working but i like the 2 league idea

yeah, i think the point of this is more to compete against everyone from the forums. I dont see the need for a "big" buy in either
Wandigo
I'm interested and sent you an e-mail.
eYank
theres no way on the FCP software where like an admin can make a replay so we could see the cards?
like i know they show replays of events with the hands showing on pokerstars bc if there was some way to do that on FCP id be interested in announcing but idk if its possible on FCP
tobytobey
I'm interested and sent you an e-mail.
Huge Pair
I am interested, hopefully buyin is 200 or more.
zsta2k6
Alright, I have recieved over 35 people interested in this event, which is simply awesome. As far as the discrepency of the buyins, I feel it would be best to run two events, one with a buyin of $10-30, and one with a buyin of $100+. This, of course, is pending enough interest for both of these. Also, if you are interested in a freeroll, stay tuned as I am trying to work something else out. Below is a closer idea of the flow of this event.

-Qualifying freeroll for low buyin event, top 24 advance

-Qualifying freeroll for high buyin event, top 23 guaranteed a seat, 24th pending

-Low buyin event, winner of this is given the option to use winnings to buy into the high buyin event, if they opt out of the high buyin event, seat goes to 24th place finisher in qualifyer

-High buyin event.

Also, I'd like to discuss how fast to do this... once the event is underway, we could blast through everything in a matter of 2 weeks, with a match close to every day. Or take a slower route, stretch it out to 6 weeks, one prelim match a week and the playoffs the final week. As far as days of the week, any day between noon and 3am EST works for me, but I would like to avoid the Neg-o and FCPHUL time slots. That's it for now
tobytobey
I'm in favor of a slower time schedule. It being summer and me having kids, it would be hard to play every day.
DonkSlayer
Once every two weeks sounds good. I'd like to get most of it overwith in August. Don't do Sundays.
