dang... it's hot.
SBriand
80 right now. Which is cooler than the last few days but still muggy as hell.
tyfgine
It was 92 in my room last night when I went to sleep.
LongLiveYorke
It's cool where I am right now, but I was in northern California last weekend (around the Palo Alto area, a city of the future). It was quite hot out there, and was consistently over 100. The humidity didn't help either. So, in conclusion, it's hot.

I don't need it 99% of the time, but this heat wave is brutal, the humidity is killing me.

This is a LIVE up-to-the-minute heat index map. Why the hell am I so lucky to live in Iowa where it's currently hotter than Death Valley or Phoenix. High for Monday 7/17/06 in Des Moines 109!!
It's Hot

This map will update constantly.

Last two mornings we have had the doors open to let in all the cool air.

Hasn't reached 3 digits in 4 days. But will be over 100 tomorrow

That's just the phoney baloney heat index, not the actual temperature. It'll really be like a cool walk in the park. A 105 degree, humid park.

Sadly, yes. Like HB already said, it isn't just temp, but temp + humidity. Corn grows really good here for a reason.
SAM_Hard8
BEA-utiful night here in Indy. Windows open and smoking a nice cigar.

Unfortunately the Canadian low providing this wonderful evening will be moving out and that hot bubble of air is heading our way by Sunday.

SFTrue. I stepped outside today around noon, and it felt like I got mugged. What a horrible day.
CaneBrain
93 and muggy here today. blah.
SBriand
Aw, just 99 right now. Got out of my car on my way into work and my glasses fogged up.
wsox8
ahhhhhhhhh it's like a sauna here. And it's really hot in the building too.

One thing I can appreciate here in Palm Springs.

When it is 100+ degrees it is usually dry, and that makes such a huge difference.

Like I roll down the window and leave my arm outside to dry off the sweat and it feels cool having the sweat evaporate.

You can't do that in high humidity

hblask
The prediction here is for 118 heat index today. This is Minneapolis, where -45 windchill is not uncommon. I don't think humans were made for 150 degree swings.

They said the humidity yesterday was equivalent to what you would experience in a sauna.

Greatest. Faux Paux. Ever.

Yesterday was the worst it's been since I got to Korea, and honestly, the first time that we hit triple digits. I think it was 105.

It dropped back down into the mid-90s. People were complaining a week ago when it was like...90. The heat index being 90. Considering that same week, my hometown was hitting 125 on the heat index, I didn't quite get the complaints.

126 in Newton, Iowa, 30 miles from my house.

Does that mean actually 126? or with heat index.

Cause in Palm Springs we just use actual temperatures because we love to say: "Hot enough for you" to each other.

Then if anyone complains we love to say "What are you going to do when it gets really hot?"

These are the things people in Palm Springs love to say.

It is bastard-motherfucker hot outside right now.
My condo doesn't have central air and I don't have a window unit. One one of those freestanding floor AC's.
It's just barely inadequate today.
All other days, no problem but today, I have to sit right in front of it.

93, feels like 99 in Brooklyn right now, according to weather.com. Frankly though it feels like about 160.

On a list of the greatest inventions of all-time, air-conditioners are top three. The wheel, air-conditioners, and the compass, in no particular order.
