trying to plan a trip to vegas. looking at the stratosphere hotel because its cheap. how far is it from the center of the strip? will it be a comfortable walk? will it be a comfortable walk at 5am after poker & drinking all night? don't care too much about the rooms - only want a place to sleep for a few hours.

It's fairly close.... but just take a taxi... they are cheap and available.

Stratosphere is on the complete end of the strip, closer to downtown. Maps are your friend


For reference, Bally's is generally considered the "middle" of the strip. Definitely take a taxi, your feet will thank you.

Imperial Palace is your friend.

Call them up, sometimes they have specials. Not AS cheap, but cheap and right in the middle.

Kers is right - the Stratosphere is as far as you can get north without heading into downtown
