what were you doing in this hand post-4th?

i just don't like it, unless you've got read on cardcaper that says he bluffs a lot.

on fourth, if that's the case, i call down. otherwise, i'd probably just fold. there's a lot better situations to play with +ev than 98 high.

as it goes, with the odds down, unless you start seeing him catch perfect (which he didn't), the call is good on fifth.

on 6th, i'll raise it up. the reason being is that there's nothing out that can beat you at this point. you seriously need to be pushing them, and making them pay to make their draws

7th, i check/call, unless there's several bets in front of me. if we're having to call 2-3 bets cold, our 98 is beaten. but there's no sense in reopening betting for a possible check/raise.

Because of the big pot, I think you have a call on 4th. Raising is very bad unless your opponent is a complete lunatic (and remember, even lunatics get good hands sometimes).

Ok there is something Chip Reese said in the stud section of Super System that I can think of here. If your hand does not improve on 4th/5th, time to dump. I think in this situation you got lucky that they bricked out, and I hate that raise that got 3 bet, I mean all you are hoping for there is for them to fold and when it gts 3 bet, I think its time for you to fold.

The Nuts
I check/call fourth.

Fifth street, I lead out. There's only one opponent that has a chance against you now and he paired. The other two have queen low.

Lead out sixth. You're definitely in the lead now.

Lead on seventh too. If I'm certain that I have the best hand, I want to get as much money in the center as I can.

Under normal circumstances, I would lead out here too. But given we have a (seemingly) active player in this hand, the check saves a bet, as there's a shot we get check/raised if villain made an 8. he could also do that if he made a 9, but still highly doubtful.

Third is fine IMO.

Fourth I wouldn't have played like that. If you were first to act AFTER the bet, then a raise would be fine to hopefully narrow the field, but since you weren't, its just a call.

Fifth is a fold IMO. You are drawing to a worse low than your opponent, so it will take a lot of luck (you catching good, him catching bad twice) to win.

eww, i would almost never lead out on 7th there. Our hand is fairly well defined as being a 9 low at best. It looks like both of them were on draws that would beat our 98 made, and if they made any sort of hand they arent going to fold for 1 bet. If the first guy makes the call then the 2nd guy isnt going to overcall unless he has a hand that beats ours (unless hes a total donk), so at best we can win 1 bet by betting out. If someone decides to checkraise us here we're still going to probably have to pay them off because the pots so big and they could be bluffing unless it was the first guy that raised and the 2nd guy cold calls 2, then we can safely fold, so most of the time we get checkraised we lose 2 bets. Against 2 players I definitely think checking is the best play on 7th.
